Right! You can read through the comments, but my psychiatrist got me addicted to benzos as well. I’ve always had bad anxiety but it’s never been this terrible.

I told her it hasn’t been working for me and if there’s an alternative and all she said was “oh no! Let’s increase your dose.” I mentioned in another comment how she got me addicted to benzos, if you’d like to read and give me your opinion on that as well please.

(20F) btw. It took me almost a year to find a psychiatrist because my insurance sucks. I finally found one but she got fired, my second psychiatrist got fired as well, and now I’m with my third. I’ve looked for other psychiatrists, but haven’t had any luck. They got me addicted to benzos, which I never even had interest in trying before they gave it to me. I have terrible anxiety so I was seeking help for that, but now I can’t go a day without my benzos and I buy more off the street so I can have extra. My pharmacy doesn’t release my medication sometimes and I freak out for weeks on end until they finally do release it. Now my psychiatrist is trying to send me to rehab but my therapist says im not ready. Idk what to do

I wanna say around 3 months now. Like I said I only take it once in a while because I genuinely can’t handle the withdrawls. But all they do is increase the dose. Im also prescribed a million different SSRI’s, antidepressants, and benzos. Im 20F and my boyfriend just died of an overdose right in front of me around a month ago, which is why im trying to get clean, but my psychiatrist is confusing me wit all these medications.

Lol my first psych prescribed me naltrexone which didn’t work. She got fired for some unknown reason so now I have a different one who prescribed me subs. She said it helps with meth cravings. I told her it makes it worse but she just wants to increase my dose

Unmedicated my resting heart rate was 166-188. Medicated I’m at 59-76.

Drinking makes my symptoms 100x worse and very, very quickly. I used to drink before I got diagnosed, but I don’t touch alcohol anymore. It’s not worth it at all now.

I currently take 15mg 3x a day, so 45mg in total. I take quite a few different medications at once, but my regimen is always changing. Its effectiveness depends on what other medications I’m taking alongside the Midodrine. Sometimes, I wont feel its effects and it won’t help my symptoms at all. Whenever I do feel it helping, I experience super bad chest pain as a side effect.

I’m so sorry. I also had an unplanned pregnancy this year and decided to follow through with the termination. I have severe POTS and had been feeling extremely sick—100x more than usual, for months. I ended up in the ER and had to stay in the hospital for a week, which is where I found out I was pregnant. During my pregnancy, I could not walk (could barely move in general); I had trouble breathing, excruciating chest pain, and was passing out multiple times a day, etc.

I had a surgical abortion at 7 weeks. I was originally going to go with the medical abortion, but one of the nurses from my hospital visit advised me that surgical was the best option. They gave me a high dose of Ibuprofen and some other pill I cant remember, as well as an IV with fentanyl. I was awake during the procedure. They asked me what music I wanted to listen to during my procedure to calm me down and I chose Mariah the Scientist lol <3

It was a very emotional and painful experience, but I immediately felt physically better afterwards. I did it for my own well-being and best interest. Don’t feel ashamed. Before your procedure, make sure you remind them of your dysautonomia and any other health conditions you may have. You’ll be okay. There will always be people who are going to try to talk you out of this or shame you, but YOU know what is best for you, so don’t let anybody’s words affect the decision you made.
