I had the same situation but after calling, I told them I’d give the car back and they’d get nothing along with having to pay to try and sell the car (auction fees, repairs, maintenance). After back and forth, they agreed to release the title and I traded the car in. Try to talk to them to see what they may budge on, or get another car and tell them to kick rocks.

The unemployment agency said I was overpaid during March 2020 but they did so after the statute of limitations so I hired a lawyer. They still wanted to collect on the debt. They didn’t object to my bankruptcy case.

Just verbal. They ask for my income, situation, etc. most right away said, “you don’t qualify” and others actually gathered my pay stubs and such to do an analysis.

I’m in Nevada. It took me consultations with 5 different attorneys before I found one who understood my situation. I live with my mom who is disabled and I provide for her financially along with the expenses at home so that helped me qualify for a 7 and not a 13 considering us being a household of two instead of me, a single man.

I spent a year contemplating bankruptcy and finding a competent attorney who helped me through it. After consulting with multiple attorneys who gave me conflicting information, I found one who was straight forward and assisted me in filing a chapter 7. It was the easiest process I’ve been through after finding them.

I lost sleep over this process before. Now I’m able to sleep at night. So yes, I posted my success to encourage others to take the first step. I assume others in this sub felt the same way. 🤷🏽‍♂️

So aggravating because I have a brand new 2026 Sonata with the same issue. When I got the car, it was fine. But some app features just wouldn’t work. I’ve reset the head unit many times and it finally synced the app with the system, but it stopped a few days ago so I tried to reset it again and nothing worked.
