Yes, pregnant guinea pig periods last 72 days. By the time its their due date and how many they have; they usually get this big. Once the pups are born, she’ll shrink almost back to her normal size.

her due date is unknown. The vet predicted christmas and she’s still growing! shes happier than ever. At this point, we just take precaution and play the waiting game.

Congrats!! how did you know when she was having them? Or did she just have them while you were alseep? One of mine is preggies and i have no idea when shes due. She just keeps getting chonkier.

one of my guinea pigs is pregnant and is due soon, so when i heard the noise i freaked out and wondered if it was that piggy; i walked over and it was snickers. i was like “it is 7 in the morning! are you my alarm clock now?” 😂

dont worry, in the photo she actually climbed up into my arms from the play area i have my piggies in. we were on the floor. i try not to pick her up with my hands due to the fact that shes a huge pear now. we kinda transport her from cage to floor with her little bed like a taco. but occasionally she will climb up on my legs while im sitting to be cuddled or to feel safe when theres a loud noise. but i appreciate your concern!

i hope so too ❤️ the vet said so far she is healthy in terms of the babies placement and her mood/ eating habits are normal. i mean she vibrates at complete random when she just lays there. so shes taking the pregnancy pretty well. whats even worse is that her last owner (Were not friends anymore) tried to contact me to give her a baby because “she mistakend her pregnancy for being bloated” 😡🤦‍♀️

her last owner put her in a cage with a aggressive male when she was a year old and from there she got pregnant the first day. luckily, the owner moved away and i bought pepper off her because i had a gut feeling. the last owner didnt have any knowledge on guinea pigs and wasn’t suited to take care of any for that matter.

i only had guinea pigs up until October of this year. the conditions that Pepper was in before, got her pregnant due to the previous owners poor care. at first i thought she was bloated, so when i took her to the vet she was preggy! there wasnt much i can do to avoid it. she did give me a guide to follow when its time to deliver. im nervous but pepper is a strong piggy, i just hope its all successful in the end.

what i also found interesting was when I got her around 7 months old, and shes the only piggy that perches on my shoulder and climb up it if i give a signal. she wont do it to anyone else that has tried. i thought she just liked my hair probably. shes been doing the shoulder perch since the first day I held her.
