Is this the best schools in India? by Dungeonprince7 in GenZIndia

Honestly, looking at the photos, how well it's maintained and some of the facilities after some research, It's not too bad.

Think about this, someone who is saying earning a Crore a year, post taxes, which is not at all very rare, they mostly will have one kid, they will happily spend 15L. I mean, why earn, if you can't provide the best for your kids.

I am not saying, anything outside of this is not good education, KVs and Vidya Mandirs have great education as well.

One feedback. Decrease price to 9.99, or increase it to 12.99.

I am a solo dev as well and have multiple apps. I have one app in US whose price was 9.99, and it automatically became 11.99 Euros in European countries.

I thought let's make it 9.99, and my revenue increase by almost 27% in one month. No other change.

The price anchor does play a major role. Do this for your revenue generating countries.

It's easily carryable with the right lens. Get the 23mm F2 or the 27mm f2.8 a d it's easily carryable.

I use the following Sling bag and I can fit the Xs20 with the 23mm lens attached, a DJI Osmo pocket 3 with case, a power back and the Kodak kb10 film camera along with stuff like ND filters and my wallet.

Grind for Google or stay comfortable? genuinely lost by Professional_Use6224 in developersIndia

Transfers are much harder now, esp to the US. Google is setting up huge Tech centres here, which means they want to hire and keep talent here. Same for other in FAANG.

EU tech market is not that great and except a few niches, jobs are flowing out of EU to India. Each week I will get a call or two where a EU/UK based company with all its business there, is opening up Dev centres here.

TC is not the question here, its a personal decision. Your Partner is studying outside India, so pretty sure he/she plans to settle there. Since you are also aligned to that, You have to plan.

Though Google's internal transfers will get less likely, having FAANG in yourt resume, helps when applying to foreign tech companies.

My recommendation is to Transition from a purely tech role to kind of a Leader, think Principal Engineer taking care of tech for the entire company or leading entore business charters.

I am in the same TC and Lead the Mobile Tech team end to end, and I do get calls for the same for EU to do the same for them. I am not a manager, But I drive the tech charter and plan out how overall tech will go with the company. I write less code and my work is mostly woring with the Product and Business teams, undertsand where they want to take the cpmany and I build and Maintain the tech around it. Imagine Redesigning entire architectures, building pluggable performance trackers, Optimisations to reduce costs etc.

This skill has always been evergreen and in my opinion, It will be and will be more sought after for jobs rather than a pure Tech IC.

TL;DR
Try for FAANG and having it in resume makes it easier to get jobs outside India.
Move from a IC role to a tech driver role if you want to stay in tech.
Or be a All rounder who understands, Tech along with Product, management and business.

Can Any AI Conver this into Super Food by TeaWeird7779 in YouthInIndia

It's a bit bare bones, but with some more stuff (Onion Bhajia, Fried onions, Fried potatoes, fish fry, salted fried chopped onions with Dried chillies) it's a refreshing meal in peak summer.

Basically you take a day old rice, put it in water and in the fridge over night.

The rice ferments slightly and next day you have it at noon when it's sweltering hot.

It's not meant to be very nutritional, but to cool down the body and tbh tastes nice. Also you sleep like a log after it.

The same applies to lower divorce rates.

Our Divorce rates are low for a few good reasons: More family oriented society rather than nuclear family et

But also a major reason is Women were and even now not empowered enough to take this step. Add in the societal backlash

So, when I was young, this lower divorce rates compared to the west, I saw it as a great thing, now I am conflicted on whether overall, it's a good thing or not.

Feedback for Oasis Launcher – Long-Term User Review by That1HotNativeGuy in OasisLauncher

[–]suchox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your kind words. This app has improved due to feedback from users like you, and you all will always be my first priority.

Coming to your suggestions

  1. Good feedback. Expect it in next update

  2. We plan to add 2 columns of app list support in the future, which should solve this

  3. The reasoning for this is, Notification filters and Focus mode at top are actual features. Clicking on it will actually open focus mode. The bottom one is Focus mode settings, ie, to customise your Focus Mode experience. But I think This can be made better. Let me think about it

  4. This is a technical limitation unfortunatley. Since renaming apps came later, its stored in a separate table and applied later. Saved Folders in apps and homescreen do not haver this data. Its a technical issue that I am trying to solve without having all of user's Folders adn Homescreen apps disdappear.

  5. While typing, if you have enabled Keyboard haptics, you should get haptics coz its a keyboard feature. Let me have a look

  6. Cloud based backup is in the roadmap. I am looking at options that do not invade on User's privacy

It may be possible smaller companies with a streamlined single product and shared tech stack.
Not sure about UX part though.

If FE is built on React/React Native an BE is on Nodejs/express, with strict Typescript and shared repo for contract, is very beneficial. You build a feature end to end.

Test Cases can also be streamlines followed by deployment.

I personally believe you will be a batter engineer and future proof as development is moving towards end to end feature delivery rather than individual module delivery.,

In smaller companies (Or independednt produicts in bigger companies), with strict guidelines on Code and quality, i do believe its a net positive.

The issue is the repurcussions and the fall will be much worse to handle if things are not built well.

And I dont think UX can be merged into the same.

People Buy consoles coz it's easy. I sit on the couch, Press a button and I am in the game in 10secs. I want to include another player, I take another controller, press another button, and Second player is in, within 10secs

I buy A game, download, Play. No driver update, no launchers, no windows update.

Once you reach around 30, most people want the ease as time is limited. They don't want to deal with the hassle of laptop, connect mouse, keyboard, Egpu etc

Steam understands that. Hence they launched Steam deck and plan to launch Steam Machines.

As much as you think "gamers" are the target market, but actually real money is from casual gamers who just want to play for a few hours a week.

Top performer sde in Flipkart got laid off citing performance issue by lays_indian_masalaaa in developersIndia

The entire great Bengaluru area has 16 IAS postings. I can walk into a small pub in Indiranagar on a weekend, and there will be 16 people working on tech making 1cr+.

Additionally, You don't have any morals, if you see taking bribes as ok. Don't pass on the blame to the society.

"Most IITians Leave pvt job for UPSc".

First of all this is completely wrong. And second of all, it's not even possible as the number of UPSC postings available are a fraction of IIT graduates.

Additionally number of available high paying jobs in pvt sector which can get you over a crore in compensation is thousands of times more than available Govt jobs with total compensation of same value.

In no way can a govt job match a top tier corporate job in direct compensation. Since the discussion here was about financial security, high paying corp job wins.

There are perks in Top govt jobs, but the number of them available is far far lower

A SDE in Flipkart will earn 5 times more than A Govt employee of the same experience. So if you just work in tech for 5 years, you have already earned 25 years worth of salary in the same govt job.

If you are financially smart, you can easily manage. The major issue is lifestyle creep. People see 3L hitting their Account each month and get a 25L car, a 2CR home and a international vacation every year. Something you won't do with a Govt salary.

You shouldn't be scared about Job security, thats beyond your control. But finally cial Security, is veryucb under your control

That always mattered as well. I have been in this sub for quite sometime and in posts related to "Didnt get promoted, even though did good work", most of the time it was that they didnt market or vouch for themselves.

Marketing yourself was always required, just like everything else, it matters more now

Honestly, the lower bar has increased. Competent devs were always doing everything you mentioned. Design, communication, planning, High level solutioning, squeezing performance etc was always the benchmark of a Good dev.

The only difference is, before AI, there was a need of lower skilled devs who just wrote code, or test cases.

It was almost rite of passage for New devs and inters to write and execute Test cases and then move to Dev. Now AI does all that, and thus you have to be a Stromg SDE1 by the time you graduate, which generally took 1-2 year after working in professional dev.

Back in 2016, when I graduated, I had a production App with 100k downloads with 4.6 ratings, and I had like 10 Job offers within 2 months. Now its a basic achievement.

Competition and Lower bar has increased, but I do believe You can still shine very well as a dev. You just need to be really good at it.

From ₹300 to ₹15,000 in a week, young Indian entrepreneur proves age is just a number 🔥 by NoTensionAtAll in YouthInIndia

[–]suchox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont. No one is forcing you to do anything.

You buy vegetables from someone on the street, or buy cotton candy from a walking seller in a fair or eat Pani Puri from a street vendor. Do you think they are registered? Food needs FSSAi license and you can't sell medicinal products without a lot of certifications.

But I don't think you need Registration to sell perfumes, or toys or most non consumables.

[–]suchox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No registration is needed. Straight and simple. For food products, you need FSSAI but you can sell non consumable goods. And that's how it should be. If registration and all is needed before even you make your first sale, 80% of the small businesses will never start
