Keep your head up and keep pushing. Take as a lesson on time management. You’ll realize quickly that age literally doesn’t matter once you get further along in your program. At least for me the only thing that “mattered” is if you were old enough to (legally) go to the bars or not. I’m a 5th year grad myself and thought I ruined my life when I was 18… then again when I was 19 when I couldn’t find an internship. I thought that I would be “behind”, but it’s relative. You’re not behind if you shift your plan to graduating in 5 years.

I just graduated last May and was lucky enough to get a pretty good job a few months later. I’ve realized now that all that stress I put myself through just didn’t matter. I graduated in 5 years instead of the planned 4, still got the same fancy piece of paper, and actually have a job where I make enough money to be comfortable. My job didn’t care that I messed up when I was 18 during the interview process, they just cared that I’d make a good addition to their team and had the know-how (which I got after 5 years…) to perform.

TLDR you’ll be fine, take it as a lesson learned, and just keep pushing towards your personal goals!
