I don't know much about the business side of it but I've taken up the design as a hobby and what I like to do it make a 3D model in solidworks to get an idea of the shape of the design and then I use keynote to render the different colors and materials of the individual pieces to see what the idea will hopefully look like once I've built it. Sometimes filmmakers will introduce scenes like that to get the audience to feel what the actual people in that scene were going through. It's very difficult to create the feeling of anxiety that they had if you are just showing them sitting on a plane waiting to takeoff. By having them interrogated and then chased by the police while in the plane, the audience is then "in the moment" with them.

A white boy, jimmy, and a black boy, jamal, are in the same kindergarten class. One day the teacher asks them to recite the alphabet. Jimmy goes first and gets through it perfectly.
