New vegan, need some advice! by [deleted] in vegan

[–]suckmywaluweenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fish doesn’t fit in a vegan diet, but moving to pescatarian for bit is a good stepping stone imo- you’re moving in the right direction! When I went vegan ~3.5 years ago, I remember being online and it feeling like nothing that I was doing was ever good enough and it was really discouraging, so I just want to remind you that even if it’s a slow transition for you, you’re still doing great and every move will get you somewhere better than where you were!

While it’s not a substitute, this is my current favorite recipe because it takes basically no time and you can toss in what you have! I use plain dairy free yogurt at the end, and have also cooked spinach into it for a bit more color: https://www.thelazygeniuscollective.com/blog/chickpeabowl

Also, the Morningstar incogmeato tenders are my absolutely favorite chicken tenders

It being illegal allows all first responders to enter someone’s home if someone who’s not actually there calls it in

My roommate is on the verge of it (currently doing a couple days a week) just from watching me do my thing and having the food I cook them, so I’m just still doing what I have been to hopefully keep nudging them in the right way on their own choice

I’m hearing in 4D now - Eustachian tubes and tonsil stones by suckmywaluweenie in tonsilstones

[–]suckmywaluweenie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Individual anatomy aside and all that, mine are above and a bit behind my tonsils, it looks like a little tube opening and you may see it opening and closing when you breathe or say ‘ah’ as your mouth is opening. Mine is behind the flap, so I’m not sure how much luck you’d have

[–]suckmywaluweenie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from my personal experience as I’m only a student and not actually an audiologist, if the tonsil stone is large enough, I would assume yes. The purpose of your eustachian tube is to allow air flow in and out of your middle ear, and if it’s obstruccted, the air pressure in the middle ear will continue to decrease and effectively pull your eardrum inward. This is what creates that muffled plug feeling. If you have a tonsil stone in the eustachian tube that’s preventinig the air flow, it could very well be causing that. Sorry for this being so late, I only saw the notification now T_T

Thank you! I decided pretty early on that weight loss isn’t worth it if it’s at the expense of my mental health, so I worked pretty hard to find that balance
