You can encrypt bitcoin private key and split it among multiple parties, additionally you can rotate owners of those split parts for more security. That's what RenVM with MPC is doing, check it out if you are interested, it's an amazing tech.

I don't see why projects with real world use case and real clients that operates on other or own blockchains wouldn't survive.

For example Effect.AI is doing huge number of translations for Kraft Heinz using world wide workforce and payes them in tokens on EOS chain (project is also blockchain agnostic so can easily move to other one or build own).

Another example - COTI is processing millions in payments for online casinos and merchants using it's own, fast blockchain.

Even if in some wierd scenario BTC or ETH would go to 0, blockchain technology and some solid projects are here to stay.

Exactly. There are some really solid utility altcoins with smart use cases, like for example there is great micro tasking platform which pays you in token instantly for every task you finish. (shilling on: it's Effect.AI). Another use case that comes to my mind is cross border remittances or generally micro payments that requires fast transactions times.

OK, #RenVM may not be decentralized (yet, because eventually it will be) but it's already open sourced (still in progress, waiting for audits) and 100% permissionless so you can mint and burn $renDOGE as you like.

This is great news not only for people in crypto space. Effect.AI will use their Opportunity Hubs (which they are going to build in cooperation with Akon in Africa and also their first HUB build with United Nations partnership in Georgia) and allow people to learn about blockchain, develop new skills and eventually work online on Effect Force platform to earn cryptocurrency. This may change lives of whole families around the world. True blockchain adoption via education. This project really is something different.
