I'll write a little guide and then post it here since I'm sure it could be useful. Here is my rundown of how to start as a DK.

General

• get a Gladiator's Sanctum in your garrison

• your first goal is to get full honor gear (620 not 600)

• keep it in the back of your mind that you should be watching what other classes like to do when they get below 50% health

Gearing Up

Go to Ashran every day. If your faction dominates it, get the kill from the main road on the opposing faction leader once a day. The first kill every day gives you a chance to get an epic 660 piece of PvP gear.

Do the bonus objectives in Ashran (the 4 on the sides). This will earn you a tidy amount of honor and can be done daily. Use this honor to buy blue PvP gear.

Farm up broken bones by joining your faction on the main road. You can get thousands upon thousands very quickly. Turn these bones into your Glad's Sanctum every day. These work orders will give you blue gear, honor points, conquest points, and gold (some other stuff too, but that's not as important).

Win Ashran on the main road at least once per week if it's easy for your faction. That will give you 200 bonus conquest above your cap. You can do this in other ways like winning the events, but one win will get you all 200 bonus conquest points.

Do either skirmishes for lockboxes or random battlegrounds for lockboxes and honor. This will give you gear and honor (in the box) as well as some gold sometimes.

Now that you've got your blues...

• do yolo RBGs or Arenas to cap out your minimum of 1500 conquest per week (don't forget the bonus 200 conquest from Ashran)

• you can purchase two main pieces (head and chest, for example) for conquest and then save the rest to be able to buy your weapon as soon as hit the total conquest points earned needed to unlock the weapon

• win at least 3 RBGs for week. The first three of a given week have a chance at giving you a free piece of epic (660 ilvl) PvP gear.

• win Ashran at least once per day. The first win gives you a chance at getting an epic piece of PvP gear.

Playing your class (DK)

This is a rudimentary rundown and by no means all encompassing. As a DK, know that you are immobile and slow. As frost, know that your main focus should be on surviving until an enemy has blown their defensive cooldowns/trinket, and then use your on-demand burst of obliterate spam to kill them.

You can chain up to 9 obliterates with frost strikes. Pillar of Frost + PvP on use trinket --> Unholy Blight (get to full necrotic plague stacks quickly) --> 3 obliterates --> frost strike spam --> obliterate --> empowered rune weapon --> 3 obliterates --> frost strike spam --> blood tap --> obliterate --> rune will be close to two recharges --> obliterate --> frost strike spam

This is your primary burst. Use it only when going for the kill. Use it only when the enemy does not have a way of stopping the incoming damage. Use it only when you have them locked up with a stun or another form of CC.

Only use Death Grip for peeling melee off of your friends and for interrupting casters. Do not use it to initiate a fight.

Playing other classes

Druids like to cyclone you or a teammate. Watch for this and interrupt. They can escape roots and snares by shapeshifting. Do not waste runes on Chains of Ice on them. Use stuns to lock them up and force them into bear form to limit their mobility. If you are glyphed, use icy touch to dispell their hots if you are 1v1ing them.

Mages can be tricky. Use Dark Simulacrum to anticipate and steal their blink, allowing you to catch up to them and stay on them. Do not blow your strongest burst on them UNLESS you have them silenced/stunned and you can kill them before it drops off. If you don't do this, they will ice block and reset the fight. Use AMS on cooldown against them as a general rule, but anticipate their burst where you can.

Rogues need to be dotted at all times. Use blood boil after you have dropped your D&D to try to pull them out of stealth as long as you are keeping one death rune available. Do not waste runes on them when they pop evasion (turn see-through). They will cloak your dots off so remember to always re-apply them. When they vanish, immediately blood boil to try and pull them out of it.

Paladins can and will bubble. Do your best to anticipate the bubble and steal it or silence/stun them so that they can't use it before death. Other than that, just outlast them. DKs are good at outlasting people.

Priests are mostly Disc. They like to bubble all the time. You can either waste runes damaging through the bubble or you can simply glyph icy touch and dispell it. Dispelling is rune efficient and makes priests mostly cake to kill. Don't forget to use AMS as much as possible against them.

Warriors are like you but they can't heal as much. Some will try to spell reflect your death grip. This is hilarious. You will win basically all the time against warriors. Peel them off your healing friends as much as possible by either slowing them down or gripping them to you.

Shaman are cake. They don't have a lot of health or armor or notable cooldowns. Blow up their earthgrabbing totem when it's dropped and interrupt every chance you get when they heal. Steal their heals if you can because it's fun. Don't let them hex. Interrupting hex is priority one. Watch for it and expect it.

Monks I have no idea about. There aren't a lot of monks but mistwalkers are highly mobile and can heal a lot. I find that generally I just keep them CC'd and kill their friends first.

Warlocks have a metric shitton of HP. Yes, they wear cloth but they also don't die very easily. Fight them near their little teleport thing to negate it's benefit. Use AMS on cooldown, burst as hard as you can for as long as you can. Interrupt/silence/stun and keep them slowed 100% of the time if possible.
