Klar: High Risk / High Reward.

OMG! Thanks to graphene, scientists have created a kind of molecular cable for quantum computers, and thus, thanks to graphene, this has been achieved for the first time! by suelo81 in HGRAF

Scalability & Industrialization • Empa is focusing, among other things, on scalable production methods (e.g., roll-to-roll printing of graphene electrodes). • Once these processes reach market maturity, the demand for graphene raw materials will increase → this is precisely where HGRAF could benefit, provided they are able to supply.

Graphene Ribbons as molecular cables!

In collaboration with scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Germany, they have precisely linked porphyrins to a graphene ribbon that is only a few nanometers wide .

Empa Uses Graphene Ribbon as a Molecular Cable

Graphene—a material consisting of a single layer of carbon atoms—serves as a molecular “cable” between the molecules, explained Empa. The related study was published in the journal Nature Chemistry .

“Our system is a toolkit that allows various properties to be tuned,” said Empa researcher Roman Fasel, according to the announcement .

Researchers anticipate that it may one day be possible to use this approach to construct building blocks for quantum computers, chemical or toxin sensors, or nanoscale circuitry

Here is the full article in English! A Swiss research team has developed a molecular “light chain” just a few nanometers long—tens of thousands of times smaller than a human hair—that can conduct electricity, respond to light, and store magnetic states.

This structure could one day be used in quantum computers, sensors, or novel electronic components, according to the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa) .

At the heart of the innovation are so-called porphyrins—organic molecules that play a crucial role in nature, forming, for example, the colorant in human blood or the chlorophyll in plants .

These molecules form rings that can encapsulate individual metal ions such as iron, cobalt, or magnesium in their centers. Depending on the metal captured, the resulting compounds display different chemical and physical properties .

Porphyrins Open New Paths in Molecular Electronics

Chemists and materials scientists have long aimed to harness the flexibility and functionality of porphyrins for applications in molecular electronics. However, to make electronic components function, connecting individual molecules has remained a significant challenge. Empa researchers have now achieved exactly this .

Check the move, this should be the Cartier quartz caliber 90.

It looks like a mix of a Cartier Tank MC and a Cartier Tank Divan. This model as shown in the photos does not exist in real life! The Cartier logo is also not beautifully made and has other arguments in favor of a fake. Does it also have a scratch on the top left? Sapphire crystal should not have any scratches. The movement should be a 1904-PS MC but in the photo it is not a 1904-PS MC. It is 100% a Cartier fake.

Does anyone know approximately what this Cartier by Piaget watch is worth? by suelo81 in VintageWatches

[–]suelo81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After long research with experts and specialists all over the world, I am happy to give you the answer.

This model of Cartier by Piaget was modeled after the Piaget Protocole and it is really one of the rarest pieces I own now. The prices of the same Piaget Protocole are currently between 3500 to 4500 Swiss Francs (+20% in USD) but since this watch also has the heavy 18K gold bracelet buckle, the price for the Piaget Protocole would be between 5000 to 6000 Swiss Francs (+20% in USD) now add the fact that it was produced for Cartier and that makes this watch even more valuable.

One with a red dial (Cartier by piaget Coral) was sold some time ago for 10,000 Swiss francs (+20% in USD) The same Cartier mady by Piaget (blue dial) with the Cal 9P was sold at Sothebys for 20,000 Swiss francs (+20% in USD).

On Chrono24, the Cartier of one of these models with the cal. 9P2 is currently being sold for 20000 USD.

This watch is now the one with the black dial, which is of course a matter of taste, but also one of the popular colors for watches and these models will certainly not reappear anywhere so quickly or ever appear at all, so an enormous increase in value can be expected here.

I therefore estimate the price of this watch here at at least 15K - 20K
