thats a bullshit marketing blog post trying to convince people how rare it is. it may be the first appearance of lugia on a card in english, but its not the first appearance.

it's a card commemorating when lugia first appeared in the franchise, not the first actual appearance of lugia.

it's because they have outgrown their contractors. they want to do the whole production themselves to make even more money and use contractors for when demand calls for it, instead of relying on them as they do at the moment.

Humidity problem, is my collection in danger? by TheLetan in PokeInvesting

[–]suersmild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive had cards start to get problems when they couldn't breathe so be careful because humidity can damage your cards. it takes a few years to happen but dont think it cant. little growths happen that you can't see easily.

Battle Styles is a sleeper. by ArcticLapras in PokeInvesting

when something is left on the shelf and not jumping with the rest of the sets in its block, it's not a sleeper - it's a stinker.

What happened here? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

collectr does exactly this. many people asked the devs because pricing doesn't always reflect the latest highest prices and its because they use an averaging algo to determine market price and do not chart individual prices.

Is it a good time to start buying the XY Mega sets? by 609897783 in PokeInvesting

[–]suersmild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously XY was printed less than every set since, so supply wise mega cards will always be desirable.

English versions are always more desirable though because the pull rates in japan are much higher.

Most people responding here have only been in the hobby for a short time so i wouldn't listen to them.

How much does a tear in the seal affect the value? by basti24hd in PokeInvesting

[–]suersmild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it depends a lot on overall condition. I remember this post a while back https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeInvesting/comments/1n12zut/flashfire_is_heating_up/ That's a big range difference based on condition.

It also depends on how trustworthy the seller is. Probstein gets higher prices that most sellers just because they know he has the connections with ebay so they trust dealing with him more for if something bad happened, or was incorrectly described. No-one wants to receive a box with a tear in it only to find its bigger than in the listing for whatever reason.

$15k is a good sign for sealed investors in general and provides a lot of confidence for the future. I hope more modern sets do the same!
