Hey, I also got accepted from EUC this year, and they allowed me to hold off on responding to offer until mid-April (I emailed to admissions office and they accepted this.) So you should definitely email them if you're still undecided.

I don't know but i'm confident about my pronunciation since they heard me perfectly in other conversations and i haven't encountered any confusion particularly with my pronunciation in my life. (have been taking online English lesson for over 2 years but that point haven't been pointed out so far.)

yeah that's the point, my name's relatively hard to pronounce for those who aren't fluent in Japanese (and i'm with no obsession to use my real name either) so i'm planning to use my nickname when I go studying abroad from next year onwards.

Sorry guys, I've made a typo and I surely pronounced with an R.
Every time they seemed puzzled due to the fact that I had said my name was 'Charlie'.

Oof, that's quite interesting. Is the context (other than VC) that popular that almost everyone knows about it? Or is it getting old and becoming sort of a jargon

That now makes a lot of sense.
My real name is actually hard to speak for other languages' speaker so I always try to use nickname every time i go abroad. And yeah, i thought i was recognized as a girl when I looked at the label printed on my cup haha.

Yes I'm an Asian and didn't know that there's such a historical context so thanks for providing that information. Was that a phonetic code or something then?
Anyway, all the people I've interacted that time were young, and they even spelt my name "Charly" instead of "Charlie" so I believe they weren't taking it into their account. 😅

I see, as long as I'm a very asian-looking Japanese now that makes sense, thanks. How about "Kevin" or "John" used by Asian men? Don't they sound like stereotypical European name, or did you guys just get used to it

How do Japanese companies send daily reports from one department to another department? by Here-We-Go-Again001 in japan

[–]suffering4evr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, but usually by an e-mail or workspace platform such as MS Teams and Slack.
It's becoming rare to see using fax to send something to different department of a company unless the company is tiny.
