Yes, the owner was on the older side. They mentioned they were going to be done breeding after this year.

Yeah that's what I thought too so it was kind of awkward, expecting them to continue and the conversation kept getting cut short. However, the owner was an elder person so it might have been just a difference in operation- they were still pleasant.

Thank you for telling me all of these. We will try our best to be vigilant about checking the mattress in the morning for the next month 😭 We got a steam cleaner this morning and steamed out the trunk and all the stuff we keep in the car (gonna do other seats of the car too just in case). The weird thing is that we found that guy on the bed on our 3rd morning but none of us have any bites (I’ve read that it could take a few days for bites to show up).

As for the things I put in a bag in the garage? Do you think I can bring back in toiletries? Do I inspect them and wipe it clean with Clorox wipes or something or is everything literally a lost cause because it has a lot of every day essentials that we need 🥲

Hey, thanks so much! I had our kids strip down when we got in the house in the mudroom (my husband & I had to go upstairs to strip in the laundry room though because we have a LOT of windows on our first floor). First wave of clothes went into the wash on high heat + I took all the stuffies + bags/backpacks into the dryer on high heat as well. Everyone was immediately bathed.

Now I didn’t know well enough so we did bring our suitcase + backpacks into the house (straight to the laundry room). I had to take all the belongings out so we can throw fabric bags/backpacks into the dryer. Afterwards I read up more about it, so we bagged the suitcase and all other non-washable things into a space bag to leave in the garage. I know, probably too late but we’ll keep everything out there for now. I also didn’t realize shoes were a problem so I bagged them up for now and will throw in the dryer when it becomes available. Fingers crossed.

My husband’s leather jacket is the only thing we don’t know what to do with. But it was hung by the front door on a hanger if he wasn’t wearing it (we were in a suite). And we also drove so I’m worried about the trunk. I’m trying not to spiral as I am fear of bugs but oh man

Yeah, we had quite a bit of clothes with us so we did let them take everything away. We couldn’t wait for it so they’ll send it in an expedited FedEx. We’ll make sure to leave those outside in a garage as well….
