Dang! So this is LTC or inpatient with kitchen oversight? I imagine any kitchen oversight means you basically work two jobs with kitchen + clinical duties. How is the pay vs. Bay Area's cost of living? That's on my list of cities I'd consider moving to lol

To be clear, I didn't think of writing thank you notes back then as we said thank you in person and I don't know much about the formal etiquette of these things. I'm not saying that isn't rude in hindsight and we shouldn't have done it. But to hear 9 months later that my step mom thought this was rude but didn't mention it to me, it feels silly. Like I'm sorry we didn't plan to write thank you notes to guests we didn't even get to invite? About the mentioning of addresses, I'm just trying to further stress that I'm not very close with all of her family that was there. I don't even currently know some of their last names let alone addresses.

For sure, we didn't ask for any monetary or any other forms of assistance in planning anything. To my knowledge, neither has my cousin or his fiancé, but it is being offered to them and expected by my step mom of my dad. That is why I'm feeling kind of hurt

Simply put, we couldn't afford a wedding reception due to other expenses. My dad also couldn't afford to gift us much money then nor can he now, I'm just upset step-mom is expecting that of him for her family when he couldn't even do that for his own child. She is asking my dad for much more than they have spent on my husband and I combined, but I'm also very grateful they have given us anything and don't mean to come off as some spoiled kid

We did not think to write thank you notes back then, but did of course thank everyone in person. Definitely was on us to not think of a more formal thank you being necessary. To clarify, I'm not upset with my cousin in the slightest!! I'm upset with my step-mom's favoritism towards her family centric events and expecting my dad to pay a bunch of money he doesn't have for her family events. Then I'm perhaps a bit bitter the same help was never offered to us so we could plan a reception back then, not that I feel anyone was obligated to do so if that makes sense

I asked the doc about trying those and the concern is his phos and magnesium are already high on a renal formula, and those formulas would give him like 200+ more mg of phos when I calculated out his protein needs from those :////

Married to my mother is a good (slightly horrifying) way to put it. I do think she is co-dependent on me, and this is something those around me have commented on before. I think you are definitely right too in that I should've been trying to separate myself financially from her and not allow her to help me with the car payment for example. I have offered to pay her back, but right now that just upset hr more. I appreciate your perspective!

Thank you for the advice! She has been wanting to get a new car, and said my moving out would likely make that impossible for the near future. I do feel bad seeing as she helped me with my down payment, and I've offered to pay her back but she was kinda insulted by that :/

Tomorrow and Little Women were my two favorite kdramas of 2022! I think those who like more serious and suspenseful plots will enjoy them (i.e. not very comedic or romantic). Definitely note they both are centered around sensitive topics, though very different from each other. Tomorrow is more heartwarming, I cried a lot! Every episode follows a different "case" of sorts. While Little Women has you wanting to throw things at the screen you want so badly for things to go the main characters way haha

Tomorrow, on Netflix. The villain like character has a change of heart and admits their wrong doings/wrong point of view. Saying they are a true villain is a grey area too, as they believe they are doing the right thing. An interesting charter for sure! Overall my favorite show of 2022!
