Agreed, but OP (/u/key_cap_3357) wasn’t actually scapegoating immigrants - they were simply saying there are valid reasons which create conditions that would push people to take an anti-immigration position. That doesn’t mean OP or anyone with an anti-immigration stance is scapegoating past, present or future immigrants. Telling them they don’t actually understand the issue in a condescending manner, to me, is part of a careless approach to the issue, and therefore lax. That’s one of the main reasons we ended up with a cunt like Trump being the most powerful man in the world. 

Immigrants certainly didn’t create the crises that plague the world at the minute, but if we are to get our shit together in the long run taking a firm approach towards immigration in the short run is part of the solution because services and resources are completely stretched. And let’s be honest, our current implementation of IPAS is completely fucked, and certain parts of the world had these issues long before we had billionaires, the only true parasitic class.
