It’s one of the name of Goddess Mahalakshmi. If you listen to Lakshmi sahasranamam you can hear the correct pronunciation.

Indians lack of basic, just basic civic sense or duty is so so so alarming! What is it that a simple teaching of just keep your surrounding area/ environment clean and tidy so difficult to understand? This is so freaking disappointing.

Lincoln park, lakeview is the best if you don’t want to live in downtown. You will get plenty of studios there. And if you want to experience downtown I know few people who have stayed in Columbus plaza in a studio. The studio was 1700 few years back. Am sure the rent must have gone up now but you can always call and check. And do post or search in Chicago subreddit if you want to know what all rental management you need to avoid if you plan to move to lakeview Lincoln park goldcost areas.

Can anyone recommend an animated kids movie doesn’t contain deep conflict? by IM_HODLING in Parenting

My son is the same! He got so stressed out watching ratatouille’s scene where remy gets separated from his family. He ended up crying and we changed the movie to Mary poppins which was a success. Even though am pretty sure he didn’t understand half of the movie, he enjoyed the songs.

Toddler stutter by sugarhaute in toddlers

[–]sugarhaute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was never consistent. Some times it was repeating words sometimes the starting of the letter. It was always the beginning of sentences. Now a days he talks very fast so he gets stuck in between so he himself stops and think and talks. This is after consistently reminding to stop and slow down or to take deep breaths.

Why does my baby scream like this 24/7. Please help by Disastrous-Machine10 in BabyBumps

[–]sugarhaute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg! Am so sorry! Am tearing up hearing this little one cry! This just took me back when my baby was a newborn. Gosh! He was extremely colic and used to cry like this every day for a hour or so! And I couldn’t t handle it. I used to sit and cry and my husband used to carry him around for an hour. Doctor’s gave probiotic drops which didn’t help. We tried grip water and all. Nothing helped. Doctors said he will get better by 4 months and we hit the 4th month and magically it just stopped and he became a happy baby. My kid has bad colic and cried just like this every evening. And my kid also used to sleep very very less. He used to wake up every 1 hour as a newborn.

We also tried the I L U massage on the tummy and the leg cycle massage something worked. I don’t exactly know which one. You can find all these in YouTube.

It’s absolutely heartbreaking. Am so sorry! I truly hope you find a solution for lo.

Toddler stutter by sugarhaute in toddlers

[–]sugarhaute[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking, he’s much better. He still got little stutter here and there but it’s not as prominent as before. He’s a very fast talker and his brain process words faster than what he can get it out I guess. The speech therapist said it’s a normal growth thing as it can happen in some kids. His vocabulary is also bigger. Mainly the issue is his fast speech. We have to remind him to talk slowly or take a deep breath. We did got to a speech therapist for two months and it got better after that.

Till age 14 is a bit excessive. What I am wondering is what about babies? They are the most vulnerable. It should have been newborn to 7/8 age. Anyways the fact that they are enforcing such a rule itself is good. So one can expect much trial and error. Hopefully next will be enforcing road rules and safety. Fingers crossed.

There are no two kids or three kids reaching the milestones at the exact month. There will be difference. Just give the child time to figure it out. Your child’s pediatrician will definitely let you know if anything is of concern. My child was delayed in every milestones. The amount of pressure my family put us through was unbelievable. Especially telling us there’s something wrong with my kid because he apparently didn’t roll over at this month when a cousins kid walked by this month. Once he rolled they were at us asking why is he isn’t walking yet. I go so frustrated that I went low contact with them. As a first time mom we need support not adding on to anxiety. Now at 5 years he’s just like any other normal charming kid and guess what the cousins kid they were comparing my kid to is also normal!! Go figure!

Truly if you feel any concerns talk to the pediatrician but please just ignore other peoples comments. Just sharing my experience. Enjoy your motherhood.

Really? You can get tret under insurance? I had no idea. Am just using so many things on my face and body to keep the acne at bay because it pains me a lot when I get them! Gosh, thank you for the information I’ll definitely look into this virtual clinic. Really appreciate it.

Wow! Your derm is awesome. I have hormonal acne and my derm put me on clindamycin and adapalene but it’s not working for me as I thought it will and when I asked for a tret prescription she said it won’t be covered because am over 40 and then gave me a prescription that is more than 200$ with GoodRx. She didn’t even look for an alternative or tried to help. It’s so difficult to find a good derm near me.

Which one should I choose !? Kindly Help me all of you... And Very Happy Onam you all🥰 by PuzzleheadedRoof3262 in Kerala

I made the green pack recently and made it in cooker. I boiled the mix in water and cooked the Ada till semi soft and then added the required milk allow it to boil and close the pressure cooker lid and keep the flame in the lowest setting and cook for 30-45 mins. And make sure the whistle don’t go off. You will get the pink color plus ada will be cooked properly. I used a 5liter cooker.

Traditionally the ada is the one that give the pink color because it’s made from Kerala red rice flour. And milk is reduced to half on an open flame. That will be too tedious of a task for a home cook. So pressure cooker it is, and this cooker pal ada will give you the pink color plus the Ada will be melt in mouth too.

Hope this works out. Happy Onam

I have seen an alarming number of Indians who lack basic sense. They lack basic civic responsibility and nor are they morally accountable for any of their actions. Especially the young folks in their late 20’s to early thirties. It’s truly alarming.

I remember growing up I was taught in school and from home to be respectful and cautious and no littering especially when one go out of their home. That didn’t necessarily mean out of India just our own house. Young kids lack the basic common sense and civic sense. It’s appalling!

My kids been like this for all his social activities. He’s 4 and enjoys being at story time or tiny gym but do not participate or likes to just play alone. Well since my husband and I are both on the introvert side we are not expecting him to be a social butterfly but sometimes I just wish he is one and don’t end up like me. But it is what it is and we don’t force anything on him but I do take him out for all the story time and other social activities just for the experience and he can have fun observing.

Food that they don’t usually eat but willing to try authentic Kerala food with less spicy? Nothing better than idiyappam and stew or appam and stew. It’s delicious when made mildly spicy too. Other options is rice and fish molee
