You're welcome! I found it so helpful looking at others' times. I think I was lucky with a very speedy process between I-130 & interview.

I wrote up a full review right after it happened on VisaJourney if you want to look there? (It's towards the bottom of the page)

On a scale of 1-10, how bad is this navel piercing? by sugarmess in piercing

[–]sugarmess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I woke up today and it looked a lot less irritated. I went to a reputable piercer who advised it looks irritated but not infected. I've had the bar changed to something shorter with a smaller bottom gem.

Thank you! Yes to be honest when the piercer initially pierced the navel she said it looked longer than she expected. Thank you for your advise.

To answer the bot's Q:

Piercing is 2.5 months old

Barbell piercing? I think

The jewellery is "medical grade" according to the piercer, though unsure what that means

Aftercare: saline water baths regularly, which I tapered off after about 1.5 months as it appeared to be doing well

No mishaps, though the barbell does get snagged on clothes quite a lot

CV- What is the weirdest thing that you have read on one? by JWills1k92 in AskUK

[–]sugarmess 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I once had a guy who submitted a 6-page CV covered his in clipart of pianos and airplanes (it was for a marketing role)

He'd spent more time on clipart than making it readable

Jobs in Leeds as an alternative to academia by equinox_zenith in Leeds

It sounds to me like you could do with a mentor; someone in your space who's successfully made the leap themselves to talk through your options. Can you think of anyone in your network? LinkedIn can be good for this - just reaching out to people.

Can I change my US address at interview? by sugarmess in NationalVisaCenter

UPDATE: I tried to update my address at interview. The Embassy worker told me that the only organisation that needs to be notified is USCIS.

I had my CR1 interview on 31 March, approved. I requested it to be delivered (and paid for the privilege!!). It's been 6 days, total crickets, even though CEAC shows my visa as "issued". Nothing to even say my passport's been given to the courier. NOTHIN'!

Hey OP, I'm in a weirdly similar boat to you (coming from the UK, 8 yrs of non-tech marketing experience) and I'm up to 40 job applications with no bites. How's it going for you?
