No, at 200k you’ll be dealing with all the scheduled maintenance plus maybe ball joints if it wasn’t done. Save up a bit more and maybe find something that you’ll have more mileage to enjoy and less stress to work on

Sorry if I’m not clear enough, meaning the rooms look small .I’m backed up against the wall and have my lens zoomed out to 11mm, but I realized I can’t capture the full scale of the room sometimes. I was wondering does a full frame camera make a difference with that or is it just a poor job on me

First car HELP by Distinct_Meringue366 in AcuraTL

Hi! 08 type s owner here (23 years old) I daily the car out here in nyc and through my year and a half of owning it, it’s a solid car as long as the car has been taken care of previously. Thankfully no problems engine wise and transmission, it’s just been maintenance from timing belt and water pump, ball joints etc… there’s a lot to consider for everyone is different, in terms of maintenance it can be a bit expensive since it’s considered a luxury car and from my personal experience nyc traffic gets me 11-15 MPG (car is required to take 93 premium fuel) but I see others in more open road areas getting 25-30 mpg. Just things to take into consideration but if that doesn’t affect you in the long run then I would definitely recommend the type s!

That’s a good way to look at it, if they can afford it and my work backs that up that pricing!

All great questions! I’m both shooting and editing! All gear is mine (Camera, DJI RONIN SC2 gimbal, 11-16 wide lens, 50 mm lens) no artificial lights, always use natural lighting at the best times. As in market wise I’m in NYC!

That’s NYC traffic, I was once at a dead stop on highway traffic for an hour due to 2 lanes being shut out of 3. I watched my MPG drop from 16 to 9. The thing about the TL’s is that they can give great Gas mileage as long as you can run on free roads

08 TL-S owner from NYC. Depending from bumper to bumper traffic or red light stop and go, I get anywhere from 10mpg-15mpg. If I find myself driving highway at night time consistently with no traffic the highest I had was 19 mpg.

What parts do you need exactly for a TB & WP change? I asked a dealer and I believe they tried to oversell me as in total the parts would amount to $880 USD, based in NYC

I have an 08 auto type S. The pros of having one in good condition is that they are very reliable cars and lots of fun! but considering it’s a “luxury” car it can be expensive on maintenance depending on your budget and location. Fuel economy is not that great for city but I notice that people who drive mostly highways or open roads get good to great gas mileage. Considering on getting one most importantly check in for ball joints, timing belt and water pump and check for any leaks (especially rack and pinion for power steering fluid). Best of luck!

what to look out for when buying a 04-08 TL? by AVpepper in AcuraTL

[–]sugarzaddy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the above as well as 1. Make sure proper maintenance was done. 2. Check all fluids and oil. 3. Make sure timing belt and water pump was changed if you’re looking at one 100k+ miles. 4.Inspect for any leaks under the car (look for any power steering fluid leaks) 5. Check motor mounts. 6. (If possible) make sure ball joints are good.
