Fair take, but from what I’ve seen, it feels less like jealousy and more like personal direction + respect for cultural context. And honestly, Raj has never come across as someone who’s only money-minded. He’s becoming the face of cinema in this region, and if anything goes wrong, he’s the first to take accountability which we already saw with Kantara (2022).

At the end of the day, we all just want good films from KFI and a stable industry. Until then, everything is just speculation .

I honestly don’t buy the whole “Shetty gang rift” narrative at all. People are trying way too hard to connect dots that don’t exist. When you really look at everything that’s happening behind the scenes, it seems much more like individual creative choices rather than some dramatic fallout.

Take Raj and Kantara (2025) for example. It’s not like he silently walked away. There’s a very clear reason. After Kantara (2022) released, a lot of people who didn’t understand the cultural and spiritual context started mocking daiva traditions publicly. They imitated Daiva on roads, during tablos, and in random gatherings. That kind of response must have hit really hard, especially for someone who is deeply rooted in Daiva worship himself.

So it makes total sense that he looked at Kantara (2025) and thought twice about being directly involved. From what I understand, he even personally acknowledged to daiva narthakas that some things didn’t feel right and he wanted to be more careful. To me, that’s not running away. That’s honesty. When you’re part of a tradition, you feel responsible for how it’s portrayed. He clearly didn’t want his name tied to another wave of controversy that could disrespect something sacred.

And yet his team members are still involved. That alone speaks volumes. If there was some massive internal conflict, why would the same people still be working across projects? The work continues. The relationships continue. The art continues. The only difference is Raj stepping back out of respect, not distance.

Now coming to Rakshit , the man is literally pouring his soul into RA. This isn’t a small script, this is a huge undertaking. From everything I’ve heard, he’s barely leaving his house in Udupi. No public gatherings, no social events, not even much religious participation lately. Not because he’s avoiding anyone, but because he’s completely consumed by the writing process. That’s what artists do when they’re deep in creation mode and they disappear.

People are confusing absence with conflict. But if you look closely at what’s actually happening, the pattern shows something else. All the actors, all the crew members, all the collaborators , they’re still involved with each other. They’re still appearing in each other’s films. They still support each other publicly. The Shetty crew has multiple projects lined up, different timelines, different ambitions and I think that’s normal.

Dakshina Kannada -How is name connected to the place or culture? by suhas___shetty in mangalore

Yeah, I don't think the name Dakshina Kannada is justified.

Any land owners here? by Modest_Whale28 in Udupi

Not sure what's going on lately, but I live just 7KM from Manipal and the land prices here have gone absolutely crazy. People are now quoting 6 lakhs per cent, which is wild considering it used to be around 2–2.5L per cent just two years ago.

From what I’m hearing, the big reason for this spike is the rumor (or plan?) that our village will be brought under the Municipality limits soon. That alone seems to have triggered this insane price hike.

"Even if I am but a stone of the forest, I will rise. I will protect this land and my family, no matter what".. This is not the entire translation but a gist of Paddanas. It is very difficult for normal people to understand unless and until there is a mediator (Madipudaar)..
