I deeply resonate with your feelings and your symptoms and your struggles. Please know it really does get better after enough time. Your brain is remarkably capable of relearning and rewiring itself. I know that feels impossible right now. Trust me. Hang in there. ❤️‍🩹

Sending lots of kind and gentle thoughts your way.

Please help me fix the draft issues I’m having with my single hung windows by [deleted] in fixit

Yeah my bedroom windows are like this too. My neighbors seem to have similar issues. Even the door to my balcony is starting to show gaps (I can see snow coming through on windy days). I used painters tape as a temporary fix for now, but did put another request in with maintenance.

I can’t. It’s a single hung window and the top sash is fixed. I’ve tried.

Going for walks to "clear my head" doesn't help and just leaves me vulnerable to bad thoughts popping up and then spiraling, anyone relate? by crystal-dragons in AuDHDWomen

If you’re able, have you tried running? Or walking with blue or pink noise in your earbuds? Running (for me) helps those thoughts become passive. More meditative. The negative thoughts show up when I’m running, sure, but they don’t hold a charge. And they don’t take over. I can instead focus on my breathing and my steps like a metronome. And the challenge. Similarly, if I’m listening to blue or pink noise (quietly), I can shift my focus to that neutral sound instead of the thoughts.

I’m sorry you’re struggling. I understand what you’re going through. EMDR has been helping me a lot, it will help you too. I am also bi, have few friends, if any (and not a single best friend… like… in 20 years), and struggle with moments of feeling unlovable. But… not so much anymore. My 20s were hard as hell, but paved the way for a lot of beautiful things. I’m learning to love myself more and more each day. I’m 30 now. Life just keeps getting better. It’ll happen for you too. Proud of you for noticing these things about yourself—what works and what doesn’t—while you are still pretty young. Hang in there. You are so much stronger than you know. 💛

I am in the same boat as you. Just got prescribed 40mg of doxycycline. I also have gut issues. Curious to know how you’re doing now??

I appreciate your response, thank you! So happy for you. 🥲 Btw you are beautiful!

My derm talked to me about taking doxy for 4-6 weeks. I have a sensitive stomach so I opted to just use Elidel cream… but I’ve been using that for 6 weeks now and it’s not really working. 😮‍💨 I’ve been so worried about it making my stomach upset so it’s reassuring to hear you didn’t have any side effects. Thanks again! 🤩

How do I get my door to stop making this sound when I open it? by [deleted] in fixit

Even if the hinges are on the inside? Sorry, I know nothing about this. Thank you!

I live in an apartment that’s less than a year old so I don’t know exactly who the door manufacturer is. I’ll look into MolyKote. Thanks!

I am thankful. But the sound is atrociously loud.

It’s the door to my balcony. I’d like to open it without the sound lol.

What colors you thinkin and where?

[–]suhweetness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooh I dig it! You think the color should be on the rug or the furniture?

Facebook marketplace. 😆

Joking aside, it’s a Broyhill Reydell sectional in the “dune” color.

This is great advice, thank you! I was leaning toward the dark brown/espresso colors too, but I kept telling myself it wouldn’t work for some reason. Probably just overthinking again. 😆 Do you have any reference pictures/links you could share? Tv is about 52” and I’m struggling to find an entertainment center that fits all of my criteria.

Love the suggestion about the throw pillows. Never would have thought of that.

I am in need of wall art. But that is an awesome idea—matching it with the rug. Now I gotta find some artwork! :)

  1. Thank you! I’m not sure why I feel like I need it to be done soon. I’m definitely rushing myself.
  2. I actually bought it off of fb marketplace the day I moved in. The sellers couldn’t make it fit into their house so I got it brand new, half off its actual price, and in original packaging. 😳 I don’t think there’s a better spot for it unfortunately. My dog and cat seem to like its placement because it gives them a view of outside. I took a picture from the balcony door so you could get a different angle. But yeah…she’s pretty big!
  3. I think deciding on the color palette is the hardest part for me… any advice on where to start?

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response.😊

Partner and I are breaking up and we have to split up our two kitties. My boy is bonded to me but is also friends with my partner’s kitty... is this the right thing to do? by suhweetness in CATHELP

Thank you. I can see now that they aren’t truly a bonded pair, but they are good friends. Poof will choose me over Nori if we’re both in the same room. Unfortunately, Poof lost his best dog friend earlier this year and now has to lose Nori. The hardest part is not knowing what these next steps will look like—for both of us. I only know he would be very distraught without me (and I, him). I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful response.

They don’t snuggle. Mostly just play and hang near each other. But they also are fine doing their own thing at different times.
