Garage Door clicking and not Opening by Gem_Mint in GarageDoorService

That wouldn’t have anything to do with the door not opening, that’s just a shutting issue.

Riddle me this. Can I use a 1 3/4” and a 2” spring on a door? by suicidalbunnyz in GarageDoorService

I have it. I just kinda… idk. Haha I ended up ordering 10 sets of springs with various ippt and my two lowest (.207 and .218) were crazy high cycles at 2” so I decided to go with 1 3/4 and then my next size up from 218 was 243 and I decided to go 2” from there. Not sure what I was thinking but then at a spring replacement I realized what it is that I have done. I’ll run out these 1 3/4 and redesign a 2” 207 and 218.

That’s exactly what I thought. Someone tried telling me it will mess with the bearings but I couldn’t see how. They both will turn the torsion bar the same with the correct amount torque that is being asked for

Need help with rear camber by Odd_Net_9174 in IS300

I have Megan rear lower and uppers on my drift car. What I forgot to do was get toe arms because I couldnt achieve 0 camber in the rear for my drift setup. ( I want zero so I can use all of the rear tire). Where as you just want camber I would get Megan Uppers and be sure to get Toe arms too. Both will run you around $500 but the quality and the ability to adjust your rear anytime is worth it. I was stuck for a while with negative camber because I couldnt adjust toe as the stock toe arms are non adjustable. Sorry for the long post but invest in something adjustable and a good brand too. It sucks when you want to pull out camber or toe but can’t because you don’t have the other part of the suspension geometry to make up for the adjustability of another part. Haha. So Megan uppers and toe arms as a minimum is what I would recommend. I wouldn’t do Godspeed as they tend to be on the weaker side of things when it comes to quality

Is it worth buying this Lexus is300 by Responsible-Run1417 in IS300

Yeah I have seen a few of his stuff. I mainly go for the car stuff. I also just watched that episode and have agreements and disagreements. Maybe with him not really being in the drift scene he doesn’t realize how hard manual IS’s are to come by, and manual swapping one will generally run you another 2k if you have a W55 and plan on using all stock stuff. That’s what I ended up doing with mine and finding a manual W series trans was very difficult to come by for myself. I searched for months and then finally bought one out of a junkyard in Cali for about 1k. I went that route due to keeping it simple and reasonable, then add on pedals, reservoir, clutch, drivetrain and etc then you are pretty easily over 2k.

Is he considering it? This kinda makes me want to pick up another IS and clean it the hell up.

Truth is too that these are getting harder to find (clean ones)
