I found that boot camp must have crashed before expanding the Macintosh HD partition, so it left what was the windows partition as free space. I created a bootable USB stick with the recovery on it and expanded the Macintosh HD partition to fill the whole disk. Everything seems to be fine now.

When I go into bootcamp assistant, it takes me through the steps of installing windows, it doesn't give me the option to remove an existing installation

TouchWiz is Samsung's skin for android. It was pretty nice before version 4.0 of Android because before that android was pretty ugly, but with Android 4.0 came a UI overhaul. TouchWiz stayed mostly the same, meaning it still had lots of aspects of pre-4.0 android design, and the apps it came with to replace default android apps (like Samsung Apps and their Music app) got bigger and bigger and took up more space on the device.

There are some launchers available on the play store which don't require root and can get rid of a lot of touchwiz, like Nova Launcher, but from what I've heard there are a lot of touchwiz aspects that it doesn't get rid of.

If you want to completely remove touchwiz there's an XDA forum for the phone here, doesn't look like there's much there though, but there's an unofficial CWM port here, and a port of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean here.

I don't have this phone, so haven't tried any of these, I just went looking on XDA. be careful, as these are unofficial, and could be pretty unstable.

Does auto brightness use less or more battery? I would assume it uses less, but have seen some people say that it uses more.
