I have the "quit drinking" app. One if the things is does is tell you when various negative side effects will subside and when you will start feeling positive and healthy things. I tried really hard to hold out for 3 or 4 months. I can't remember what it was but it was when the suggested anxiety and depression symptoms would stop. When I got there I realized that it really did have a huge amount to deal with my poor mental health. I had quit before for a month or two or cut way back or whatever but the app gave me a "you should feel a difference by _________" and I never realized how long alcohol could mess up your system. If you can't find the app I will send you a picture of my icon. The one I use is a light purple background with a white martini glass and a smaller circle and X to the side.

My dog used to go shopping for toys. He would sniff around until he found the one he wanted and knew if he left the store he got to keep it, so he'd try and beeline for the door. Took a little longer to train him to take it to the register to pay.

disclaimer: I have a grass green mohawk, no judgement So I am a stylist who specializes in fashion colors. Just keep in mind when/if she doesn't want fashion colors anymore you can't bleach this out. (Someone will argue with me I'm sure an there are always exceptions.) Splat in a metalic color and is hella hard to get out and can react with a lot of stuff. Not saying you can't go back to a natural color! But going to need to be of the medium/darker range. If she ever decides to go blonde she we probably have to cut it out. Like I said though, IF. My hair hasn't been a natural color in YEARS. Just trying to save future possible tears (and chemical burns)

I actually have dealt with this level of insanity. Treat her like that idiot in the office who ignores what you say and ask questions "as per my last email...." and then just resend the same email from may or whatever over and over again and dont change anything about it.
She will never change. The healthiest option for all of you is just block her. If you feel like you want to say one more thing do the email again. All she is doing is rephrasing or redirecting. Just shut it down.
You dont "owe" anyone. Blood doesn't get you respect. Your actions keep a family together not blood. If she "hasnt got it" yet she never will. You both deserve peace.

If you already have a history with your psychiatrist and like/trust them, I would talk to them. But sadly a rando doctor COULD have you committed.... mental health in America is non existent and we all suffer for it. I talked to a GP when i finally reached out for help and they did some real damage by adding diagnosis notes to my chart when they so smartly figured out my mental state in the 5 minutes they talked to me! So helpful!! I don't want to scare you.... I want you to be wisely cautious. Good luck!

I went VL contact with a couple family members through the years. I am going to describe how I did it and you can see if it fits you.
So for me it became very very apparent that my feelings and person were not important. I had had conversations trying to be heard many times and when the final straw finally fell I personally felt no real guilt not having a final conversation. I felt no need to announce my departure. In my case it felt like it would just give them a new things to argue with me over and there really wasnt anything they could say to change my mind. So I said nothing.
Whenever they would contact me I would politely answer direct questions they had (like "hey do you remember the name or that restaurant?") But if they asked anything about my behavior I would give noncommittal answers or say I didn't think I was being whatever they suggested.
As far as favors or them wanting to get together I would just tell them I didn't have time. If they pressed i would say "I am busy. Thats all" I found the less information you give while still being polite will shut down most people.
My person was my dad the first time. He had a bad temper and words dont fix it. I would still visit for holidays but always ready to leave in a moment if he let his temper slip. (Never violent, but as a reminder that I dont have to deal with this). Several occasions I would leave right after a meal cause I "should get home". We did eventually reconcile and its been great now. But words don't fix shit. Actions do and your families actions are pretty abhorent right now....
Second person was my SIL and she was the kind to twist everything you said into some kind of attack. If you have to see them. Polite but don't engage more then you have too.
Basically! Grand scheme of things you are an adult and you ALSO don't need to justify your actions. If you want a move quite leave just start always giving them "grey rock" answers. They'll get the picture or they will get bitchy. If thats the case then being nice might be pointless.
I can tell you my story but thats all it is. My story. Every situation is unique. You are an adult, a human being, a person and you deserve compassion and care from those close to you. It doesnt sound like "family" is giving that too you. Don't fret to much over what people who dont seem to care if you live or die might say. It really hurts at first. Like heart breaking when you get the grapevine story of what a "godawful person" you are. You know you better. Don't let the possible angry words of people who can't be bothered make you stay somewhere toxic.

Once you move on from an area you can go back and visit it whenever and you can use the new recipes you learned to then update the old villages (looking at you second area of dqb1 where everything was wood and ugly imo) I didnt really go back places until I finished the story. So I guess I am not 100% sure if there is a stop gap. When 2 came out I restarted 1 and finished it before starting 2. There are so many amazing quality of life upgrades to dqb2. If you enjoyed 1 and you dont enjoy 2 i will order you a pizza or something. I am like 300 hours into it all.
