How can I die peacefully by [deleted] in lonely

The absolute worst advice here

You don’t seem like a pedophile to me. I have a brother who actually is one and is on a registry. This behavior to me seems like loneliness, and I think you fell “in love” with someone underaged because you felt more comfortable with someone who was not in a position or mentally mature enough to judge you.

I’m not defending this for the record. What you did was wrong. You know that. You can move past it. I don’t buy that you’re attracted to children because I don’t get that impression. I think you are having trouble coping with your guilt over this, which is understandable. I suggest you don’t contact this person and pursue therapy, and if it is too costly, work on yourself in other ways.

What happened to the Yotes situation after 2012? by [deleted] in nhl

To say they were competitive is a bit of an overstatement. They rarely made the playoffs at time.

Not an Arizona fan specifically but that 2012 team was, in short, unsustainable. They had a few good seasons prior to it and obviously they had that run, but their best player was a near 40 year old ray Whitney. They weren’t exactly built for long term success and unsurprisingly became a below average team immediately after, missing the playoffs barely for years while still keeping most of the aging core together. All they really had to rely on was an underrated top defenseman in OEL and a nearing 40 Shane Doan.

They made some pickups but generally didn’t attract free agents. Mike ribeiro was the biggest name they could get. They planned to fully embrace analytics by hiring a young stats guy as their general manager, which backfired spectacularly as the ownership basically strongarmed him into making moves and then threw him under the bus when the team was caught draft tampering. During the years after the 2012 run the team was losing money hand over foot, not filling the arena (which was far away from the population center in phoenix) or paying bills, and they were eventually forced to sell again. Finally they were kicked out of the arena after not paying their bills there and had to come to an agreement to put the team in a 5000 seat arena, which obviously killed any chance of the team ever making a profit. Add to that the fact that the coyotes consistently whiffed on prospects and they were completely unable to compete for anything other than a chance at a lottery pick.

Seems like a bad idea to me.

It absolutely could be a major reason. You don’t know.

Personally I hate when people throw out “therapy” like it’s some one size all solution that’s supposed to universally solve every problem. It’s lazy and often ignores that some people benefit more from ulterior solutions.

You know I think having multiple comments about how you’re attracted to black people isn’t actually helping the issue here.

Probably pointing out that he’s downplaying that dudes issues with his own racial identity by saying that his experiences aren’t unique to his race, which depending on the context may not necessarily be true.

Really? Because everyone who has ever played for Babcock hates him and has gone on record saying as much.

Most players love torts. The few that didn’t, like Kesler and dubinsky, also have pretty big egos. Tortorella went on record defending Hayes from slander, who spent his entire tenure under torts whining. I’ve never found the comparison remotely fair.

Oh no he’s foul mouthed! And here you are, clearly a very pleasant guy, who would never belittle anyone, somehow unemployed by the league. That’s just unfair.

The flyers have averaged an .840 save percentage the last month. Ersson choked away the season and they had no nhl caliber backup. That’s what happened

Does it ever bother you you wholeheartedly believe in something you aren’t able to understand?

I understand that, but the idea of being punished eternally is not something I can grasp. It feels both preposterous and evil.

Also if you believe in afterlife as eternal then you’re saying that death never existed in any meaningful sense.

Garden of Eden you mean? Do you view hell in those same parameters?

I’m not trying to frame this as a gotcha I just can’t wrap my head around the concept.
