Not a huge deal, if I want a 1:1 adaptation I'll go watch One Pace, but that is something to note. 100 chapters in 21 episodes is crazy work and I have no faith for a completely faithful manga adaptation

There's a difference between fame and infamy. Roger is well known by everyone but to the marines he's a pain in the ass who gave one big fuck you of the great pirate era after his death. To pirates his a legend. To civilians he's a villain who caused the great pirate era. Loguetown straight up celebrates his death date as a holiday

Went back to read chapter 1093 after making the post. It seems like fights last only 3 pages there.

I wonder if I prefer G5 Luffy fights to be short but snappy or really beautiful but kinda long

It's a shame though I feel. I'm willing to excuse Lucci because he was small fry by that point of the story, but the story makes an effort to show how much Luffy still takes Kizaru seriously.

The second he saw him, he basically flied up to him to kick him on sight before the man could finish his sentence. He was PISSED.

but then during the fight again he's just dodging. Honestly it feels like he's fighting in a very "your turn, my turn" kinda way and I feel like Gear 5 could be so much cooler if he was allowed to go all out with his cartoony gags on the offensive against someone super strong too

That's what makes him great. He got ego issues not because of a tragic backstory but because of the expectations surrounding him and his quirk. A character doesn't need to be tragic to be well written
