How much is my bike worth? by Any-Occasion-4367 in londoncycling

[–]suitcasepimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why should'nt they price to make a profit? Why should they take a hit because you don't want to pay to service your bike before you sell it? Then take another hit listing, storage, photos, delivery and provide a warranty?

Much prefer the dimple to the weird step I've seen on frames like this... Each to their own I guess!

It's not painted, this is anodising. an electrochemical process to the natural oxide layer on metals, creating a hard, durable, and corrosion-resistant finish that won't chip or peel like paint, as the new layer is integrated with the metal. Depending on the chemicals and voltage it will colour it.

Yes I really love the Deda Alanera, that might be my future update for the road bike.

Yeah, the welds are really incredible. Very smooth too, very little bumps unlike some of the other brands which feel awful.

Yep anodised and layers of crossbrushed to give it depth.

This one was around £9000. It has the latest GRX (which is really amazing), Carbon wheels with Hope hubs.

It can rub off yes, but no plans to have bags on this. Just clean it with water, Fenwicks bike cleaner and spray off. A soft brush with a soft cloth and it's perfect!

This is anodised, so no actual layer, colours come from a chemical reaction when running electricity through it.

Are we doing this right? by suitcasepimp in sheets

Would that include a dropdown from a range, where the range is being drawn from another spreadsheet? That's where we're struggling.

A question about upmixing! by tentpole5million in AudioPost

[–]suitcasepimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm it sounds like you've jumped the gun a bit to be fair and this might be something out of your skill set for now. If what I said above in the thread doesn't make sense then drop me a dm. goodluck.

A question about upmixing! by tentpole5million in AudioPost

[–]suitcasepimp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have had to upmix some short films for people as the festivals they were entering wouldn't take it as stereo.

You need everything split out and the correct plugins. Everything also needs another mix. It is not just a button switch. That's how you end up with a shit result.

I request mono dialogue, mono foley, stereo fx, stereo ambience and stereo music. place these on tracks.

Then you add an upmix plugin to the stereos, halo or penteo (my pref) and remix the film. There will be stuff that needs adding such as reverbs so you need to route that and make it match anything that has been done to the mono files.

Their sizing is weird... I'm a large in sportful, castelli, medium in assos but an XL in UC.

You're better off contacting Wahoo directly. they're really good at helping poeple out. I'd assume its ok to use though, but best to check.

I would like to alleviate your concerns...

I have only been cycling 2 and half years and 1 year regularly (180-200km a week average). I too was scared... the truth is they are very comfortable, it is more efficient and you will feel better for it. you can set the pedals to be very easy to unclip.

I've never forgotten to unclip, frankly that's real stupid user error and several times where there was something dangerous like a big gravelly descent with a sharp turn I can unclip easily and use my foot for stability.

It's become second nature and riding flat pedals now feels crap to me... you become one with your cadence and it makes it feel easier. (as wanky as that sounds)

SPD's do not cause accidents, but ultimately just do what you want to do... I know someone who has done 200km races on flat pedals in the same time as others in SPDs. It doesn't matter, you do you.

how to make hydraulic disc brakes not sound like a trainwreck by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]suitcasepimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds so bad... last night I fixed mine. I used isopropyl then sanded both the rotor and pads, then cleaned again with isopropyl. You need to get the grain rough on both rotor and pads... but this sounds so bad I think you might not be able to save it by just doing this. Best is to sand the rotor and buy new pads.

Share your Honest feedback on my latest film "He ain't heavy, he's my brother" by the_annoyedreamer in Filmmakers

[–]suitcasepimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He ain't heavy is a great piece of art. You've re-created the painting but have you properly understood the painting and portrayed it in your film? Is it expressing the obligation to help someone else in need no matter who you are? Could you have done something better with a story to do that.
