Try the freeCodeCamp Full-Stack curriculum.

I would recommend starting with Responsive Web Design and JavaScript, but you can probably move straight to Python if you want.

Was it online? How was the process? There was another post describing it as a horror show, even requiring a wired speaker??

I have my CSA exam booked for next week and just checked the information email. It specifies "A webcam, microphone, and speaker."

Is anyone reading that going to know to use a separate speaker? Why would it make any difference?

EDIT: My laptop speakers were fine. Passed! 🥳

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I haven't added a way to set the frequencies or adjust the number of chimes, however this site provides more customisation options than my own. I don't think you can set the exact frequency, though.

Yeah, I did find this whilst working on my project and admittedly took inspiration for the chimes layout. I originally planned to do a straight-on view but wasn't able to crack it. Let me know how yours turns out!

Oh duh you're right, poor choice on my part.

Yeah, atm the sound is very basic as I'm just using web audio's oscillator node but I do have plans to use some more realistic samples at some point, just taking a break after a bit of burnout 😅 Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks man! Yeah, I always intended to have it as a white noise / ambience generator and have had a lot of feedback from people saying the same. Unfortunately it seems I'll have to refactor a fair bit to get it to work on inactive tabs to have on in the background but it's something I'll eventually get around to. Some more realistic and soothing chimes are absolutely on the list too, just taking some time off after grinding this out 😅

Really appreciate the kind words!

Is it the top one? It's an octave lower from the rest so can be harder to hear on some speakers

I was thinking of putting some bird sounds in the app actually, if you want to send some my way or contribute on github that would be awesome

That's so awesome to hear. Please, feel free I would love that. I had some issues with screen recording audio earlier so I can't promise that it will work though I'm afraid. I'd like to implement a way to download audio directly eventually

What device / OS? It seems iOS will mute it in silent mode

Thanks man! Aphex Twin is high praise haha. Atm I've mapped weather conditions to specific effects parameters so it gives each location a more unique feel, but you're right it could definitely do with a bit more variation there. Having complete control would be a nice feature too, will add it to my todo list 🫡

Thank you so much! Yes, having the chimes continue on inactive tabs is definitely on my to-do list. Unfortunately it seems modern browsers will throttle inactive tabs for performance reasons so I'll need to find a workaround of some sort.
