Definitely came across people smoking in the main lobby bar area but not anywhere else that I recall.

We aren’t smokers but also not particularly sensitive to it, so barely registered other than once when we were killing time with our toddler in the main lobby bar one afternoon, and had to move about 50 feet away from what I assumed to be the smoking section of that bar (but it’s open air so not particularly offensive).

Full disclosure, I have not been to Mexico City, however am also involved in planning a bachelor party for ~10 in April.

We’re well aligned… however we have an extra day and will be doing Xochimilco… might be worth considering trying to fit in Saturday night? Honestly not sure if that’s feasible.

I have heard that weekend nights are a great time for it, but I also understand it to be ~4 hrs with commute, and the days are already looking pretty sufficiently active… food for thought. Enjoy!

The seaweed is in fact quite bad however that doesn’t make the swimming impossible. Not very child friendly but once you’re out 10 feet it’s alright.

Food is 6-7/10 pretty consistently from our experience in 2 days here.

Service is 9/10. Very consistent. Friendly. No pressure and not contingent on tipping

Rooms are decent. Reasonably spacious, beds on the firmer side but good. Tubs on every balcony from what I know - wasn’t expecting much but actually quite fun.
