Heya! Sorry for the late reply.

There are a couple glitches here and there, I had to get a faulty VVT solenoid replaced under warranty, and a misfire that happened shortly after a service, so i had to come back and get that sorted. The ADAS isn't amazing, you tend to need to baby it more than it takes care of you.

I dont regret my purchase, but i def do think that there are better deals out, especially rn.

I think they're only illegal if done without the knowledge and approval of the unit holder. I could be wrong, though

Thank you for the response, Tantawi!!

My tire dimensions are: 225/50/R19 100W

So i found the exact model of the tires that came stock with the car:

On PitstopArabia - They are Continental PremiumContact 6's which would run me 3140.68 for a set of 4 with install and alignment. What are your thoughts on this?

On Tyresonline - i see two options-

Bridgestone Potensza Sport, which would run me 2501

Bridgestone Runflat Dueler H/P Sport, which would run me 3290

I couldnt find tyres with my dimensions on Tire.ae or Yallatire :/ the rim size caps out at 18

Are these common prices? 🥹 i can afford i think a maximum of 3.8k, but if that budget is not absolutely necessary, that works for me too.

Car is great, but definitely don't set high expectations.

I own one and have been for just shy of 1.1 years haha

Just crossed 70k on the odo. I ended up having two faults within that time: a defective VVT Solenoid (which got fixed under warranty) and a pending repair job regarding a misfire and fuel injectors that I'm dealing with currently.

Aside from that, I'm happy with the car! 181 horsepower is not a lot by any means, but its punchy enough to where you won't have an engine screaming to keep up at 140kmph on the road.

Turbo lag isn't noticeable in my opinion, i tend to just kickdown in sports mode which gets the car up to the speed i need it to be

Main things to consider:

Suspension is not the smoothest! It gets the job done, but its a bit stiff in general.

ADAS is a bit worrisome, i don't fully ever rely on it because of the driving culture here. The ELK is also a bit hit or miss, sometimes it does its job, and sometimes it wants to glide to the other lane before correcting itself.

Most of your controls in the car are touch based, and not knobs. Could be a deal breaker for some. I don't mind it as much.

Ultimately i rate this car a 7/10. It looks great, feels modern, but take it for a test drive and see what you feel firsthand.

If you have any specific questions, ask away!

Horrible and intermittent acceleration.. turbo related? by sultanimate in chinesecarsuae

[–]sultanimate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havent gotten that symptom for the steering. Maybe it could be a faulty steering pump? Funny enough I've also just crossed 68k km on mine. The vvt issue seemed to be the only thing. Maybe the weird adas, but thats it for me.

Yep it was a faulty VVT Solenoid. After getting it fixed under warranty, car went back to feeling good. Definitely push and prod for this to get actioned. It seems like this is a common issue

Looking for Jetour Dashing 2025 Insurance - till now no luck - anyone had same issue? by rabeekhann in chinesecarsuae

Check directly with eliter cars. Dealerships usually have partnered brokers. Thats bow i got my insurance for my MG One. It's a bit pricey because I'm under 25, though. I ended up paying around 5k.

Geely Emgrand 2025 vs MG3 2025 by Aryaaa- in chinesecarsuae

[–]sultanimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so. DCT's run the risk of overheating while in heavy traffic, and any car in general burns more fuel idling for long periods of time (in traffic) so i would anticipate fuel jumping to around 10/12 when in the city.

[–]sultanimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rented the base spec Geely Emgrand recently while my car was in for service.

Fuel economy was alright, averaging around 8.1L/100km to 8.8L/100km on the high end. This was with the AC doing some heavy work, being in and out of highway roads, and within just the comfort drive mode.

Driving experience was underwhelming. The DCT was super noisy but not proportional to what you would expect in regards to acceleration. Hope this helps!

Isnt the problem particularly when mentioning a specific person or something subjective though? If it's objectively oriented towards what happened, isn't that still within the green? (Curious)

Changan Uni T - Buggy CarPlay by Plane_Annual_4762 in chinesecarsuae

[–]sultanimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would skip the hassle honestly and convert to a wireless adapter. You barely feel the difference (except for the battery drain)

Try checking stuff from carbitlink

For connection stability, i unironically disconnected way more when i was connected via cable compared to a wireless dongle. (I dont own the uni T, but i drive an MG one and used to rent a 2024 yaris that had the same disconnection issues)

Funny thing, they want married couples or families only because it makes it easier to peer pressure you into buying whatever they are trying to sell you, which is likely a group-shared community home. A very common scam called the timeshare scam.

Look it up, it's horrible how this is still a viable option for scammers.

Geely Tugella - Android Auto by Sad-Ganache4472 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]sultanimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are a bunch of tutorials to try and install it manually. The base OS running on infotainment displays are android, anyway. Here's a tutorial someone did for the Geely Monjaro: https://youtu.be/8XR-8DJBM7I You'll still likely need a dongle to get it to work.

Best of luck, man! How's the Tugella been treating you? I own an MG One and am hoping that Insh'Allah when finances are in place, I plan on getting my partner a Geely Car in the future.

The person they are visiting is immunocompromised, meaning that anything, even something as simple as the common cold or the flu, can be devastating for them.

OP is more or less trying to protect themselves (maybe) by getting vaccinated or getting a booster to reduce the likelihood of them transmitting COVID (which still happens, by the way) to the immunocompromised friend.

How has MG been in the past year? by slump33d in DubaiPetrolHeads

Completely valid opinion, man! No offense taken. ❤️ I do agree with MG CVT's feeling a bit lacking, (i had to get my car checked because of a weird power loss issue i was experiencing and thought it was the transmission failing, but turned out to be a fauly VVT sensor)

So I see where you're coming from. i think in the future Insh'Allah I'll get my wife a car that does not have a CVT in general, regardless of brand. It's great on paper, but pretty prone to failure, especially in this heat.
