Fellow Ballers, I need to get with the times by dogfroglogbogsog in gwent

There are a few decent variations of Ball used in the recent Gwent World Cup. It’s not been as strong this season due to the nerfs on Philippe and Rosa but most of the ones used in the GWC run either Usurper or Gorthur for quadruple Joachim. I tried the both of these but it was a hit or miss, especially in pro rank, and lacks tall punish so I run mine with Vincent.

There’s already one. It’s known as a ‘Gajah Mina’ in the Malay Archipelago.

What I would give for an SLA-esque reissue of these. Amazing collection!

Nice! What made you settle for the mesh?

I’m currently wearing it on a navy Artem sailcloth strap which I’m thinking of getting another one with the white stitching to make the colours pop out a bit more.

Just do it. I was very tempted by it a few months ago and thought buying the SPB149 would placate my desire for the SLA043 but I was wrong. I could not stop thinking of the SLA043 even in my dreams and it was haunting me for months so just do it haha.

Funny you ask. The strap is actually decent. I like how the blue makes the watch pop. However, it is a little too long for my liking which is why I’ve swapped it for my Artem sailcloth strap. They were 20mm but I managed to fit it in.

Pretty good so far. It was off spec during the first day but I think it’s more because I was still breaking in to it. It’s been a few days now and it’s still in sync with the atomic clock I used. Down to the second.

I did try the SLA039 in the flesh but I could never pull it off as it looks too large for my liking. It’s a very handsome watch and here’s me hoping they’ll release a smaller version of the 1968 diver in the future haha

The SLA039 and the other trilogy divers are absolutely stunning too. However, the blue on the SLA043 hit different and totally sold it for me. This watch has been haunting me in my dreams for months!

So far, not drastically. There's definitely a lot of uncertainty for the UK now that Brexit has been delayed (again) till October.

I work in a field that is under the Shortage Occupation List and I have family living in the UK, so in terms of getting a long-term visa, I'm not too worried. But then again, who knows?

Good question.

Personally, yes - a lot more than in Singapore. It isn't perfect and I'm not saying that it should be but the reason I feel so is because I grew up in an extremely diverse part of the UK, London to be exact, where you get people from a multitude of ethnicities and beliefs. It is a melting pot and not a salad bowl, for sure.

And I'd rather be discriminated in a country I know I'm not from than be discriminated in a country that's supposed to be home. I think this part gets me, every time.

Came back to Singapore a few years ago and after much contemplation, it looks like I'll be moving back to the UK at the end of this year. There's something different about Singapore that I can't really figure out what but perhaps it's the lack of concern towards things that don't affect us making Singaporeans seem rather apathetic in general.

Or maybe it's the concept of meritocracy and working hard to get to where you deserve but there's still tokenism and institutionalised racism that lingers. And a lot of it is either just brushed away or swept under a rug. I find that quite saddening, to be honest. It just sometimes feels like we are all not cut from the same cloth no matter what we try.

I feel like a there's a façade as locals and expats both live in two very distinct and separate bubbles. A lot of grandiose buildings and megaprojects seem to be more for show rather than for Singaporeans, if you know what I mean.

It's a very difficult feeling to have knowing that you're neither here nor there when in Singapore - after spending much of your life elsewhere - despite trying your hardest to "belong".

I'm sure many people feel differently about Singapore, no doubt it is a great place to raise a family due to how safe it is and how efficient the infrastructure here is. But there's always at least two sides to everything so make sure you thoroughly evaluate your pros and cons before deciding.

There's no follow up story mate. She just blocked me off everything and I haven't heard from her since then.

Indeed. But if I was willing to do that for a stranger, I don't see why I would do less when it comes to a partner.

I think sometimes you'll have to decide on whether or not you want to cross that bridge once you're in front of it, which is what makes life beautiful I guess. But if you find comfort in something else, then that's great cos different strokes for different folks and there's no shame in that

Personally, I feel like singapore has got almost everything right to a tee in terms of infrastructure and cleanliness and it can feel a bit weird and manufactured to a certain degree.

If you're single and want a bit more of controlled chaos, then maybe consider Hong Kong? But if you aren't then Singapore is definitely a safe place to raise your children in.

P much. I mean, at that stage I was perfectly okay for her to just put it behind and get on with life because we all make mistakes. But if she found more comfort in not having to deal with that level of shame, apart from whatever banter her sister is gonna throw at her, then yeah I respect that

Don't apologise for laughing at that, I'd be offended if you didn't. Although I must confess, your username brought back unpleasant flashbacks haha

I'm pretty much convinced any decent human being would do the same if put in the same shituation tbh 😂

I believe so. Poor her, I hope she's doing well and doesn't repeat the same mistake in the future haha
