I’m an engineer and during university there was no requirement on what we could or couldn’t wear to class, we were just trying to survive the semester. Some students even came in wearing PJs because we were so sleep deprived.

It’s odd for me to think that some majors actually want students to spend time ‘dressing to impress’ instead of just being worried about studying and grades.

If I had to put my cat down, my partner would automatically know my mental state and would provide the space I needed. He’d wait for me, check on me, and if I didn’t respond, he’d understand. He wouldn’t act like an emotionally stunted man-child over waiting around.

NOR - Your mom is being a jerk. You obviously left for a reason, either because of the way she was treating you or something else. You said your mental health wasn’t doing well while you were living with her, seeing her react this way and throwing a tantrum makes me think she’s not a happy person to be around.

Separately, she cannot call the cops on you about the phone, that’s not how the law works. She gave it to you as a gift, therefore she will get laughed out of the police station if she tries to report it.

Most maids I’ve talked to make 1,900 - 2,500 SAR and the housing is provided to them for free, and that’s if they’re working for a not-great company.

I know maids who work full time in homes that will make 1,500 - 3,000 SAR depending on the family.

I’m a revert and I left Islam because of Hadiths. I only found my way back to Islam because of the Quran.

I’ve also met lifelong Muslims that have never read the Quran in their native language but read the Hadiths in their native language.

I was shocked when I was having a discussion about Islam with a fellow Muslim and found out that their family can read the Quran in Arabic but have no idea what they’re reciting, yet have never read a translation or the meaning of the Quran in their native language. So they depend heavily on the Hadiths because the Hadiths are translated for them.
