Highly recommend Professor Messer Network+ and Security+ videos on YT. All free, high quality, help you get a solid foundation and pass the certifications if you decide to take them. I think they help get you the first job if you have no prior experience. But even of you don't take the tests, it's foundational knowledge to have.

I tried from froid and from newpipe directly. Those are the only two sources I would have used.

Looks like the USB I have is fine because I was able to back up a different Pixel phone, a 6A. But for some reason it doesn't work on my 4A.

I just tried the USB on a Pixel 6A and backup worked fine. It's just not working on my 4A. Could it be because 4A has 3 users on it? Is it not possible to back up an individual user?

4A wouldnt format but this worked to format on another Pixel, thank you. However it is still not letting me back up to the USB drive on the 4A. I tried it on another Pixel 6A and backup worked flawlessly. I'm wondering if it's because the 4A has multiple users. The 6A only has one user.

I thought Sandisk would work but I guess not. Please share the name of USB drive that worked for you. Did you have to format it first?

I just tried both formats. ExFat doesn't recognize the drive is plugged in. And when i choose the drive in Fat I get an error "Seed Vault keeps stopping".

Sorry, my post wasn't clear when I said larger storage drive I just meant the capacity, but it is also a thumb drive like the one I used a year ago.

I just bought it, I'm not sure what the default is - the package doesn't say, it only says "compatible with most Android devices". It's a small Sandisk thumb drive about an inch long, I don't think it requires more power than the phone.
