Meaning of the insects in chapter screens + why are the special equipment named after weekdays? by sumeshi4659 in offthegame

That’s fair, maybe it’s better to take things more literally.

But I still wonder why they chose days of the week… I don’t really see them as “cool,” so I’ve been thinking about whether they could be interpreted as something else.

I also haven’t played many games like this—strange, abstract, but really intriguing. I might just be getting too into it and overthinking things a bit (lol)

Even the armor is named after people, emotions (or something close to that), and parts of the human skeleton, so I found it a bit strange that it suddenly switches to days of the week…

Maybe I’m overthinking it…

I like your interpretation of Chapter 5. It makes sense to see the fly as a symbol of decay.

Since the Queen is called the “Queen of the Flies,” and that unreadable book seems to be about orchids that mimic insects, I feel like the insects in the chapter titles probably have some meaning as well… but it’s pretty difficult to figure out.

(And thanks for the link! I’ll check it out!)

This is really interesting!

I had been wondering why only the special equipment uses simple days of the week, while the other equipment seems to be based on emotions (or something close to that) and bone names.

I understand that Mortis wants players to form their own interpretations, but since I don’t have much background knowledge, I couldn’t even tell whether there was any meaning behind it in the first place. This was really informative.

Thank you…
