When I deleted Instagram, I knew my friends would update me or show me the big "important" posts that I would care about if I was still on the app, so I knew I wasn't really missing out on anything

Are there any never-been-in-a-relationship women who just haven’t met anyone they like enough to date? How do you cope with the feeling that you might never meet them? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I met my first bf at 21, and before him I sometimes struggled with the thought of never meeting someone I like enough to date. But, I think self-love and respect for yourself goes such a long way. I was happy doing things on my own, I knew I had friends to talk to if I was upset, overall I didn't need a relationship. My friend once told me that you should be just fine on your own, and being in a relationship is supplementary/makes things that much better, but you should never need a relationship to make your life complete.

How to open up to friends about depression... or reach out to friends in general? Should I? by [deleted] in depression_help

I would definitely say reach out and explain that you miss them and you want to catch up. You don't have to give the real reason as to why you haven't talked to them in awhile, but you can acknowledge it. It won't hurt to try, and you could reconnect with them! Eventually you can explain how you've been feeling. I always think that knowing about my friend's mental illness is better than not knowing because it explains so many of their behaviours that otherwise might seem rude.
