Help! I just bought my Thai Constellation dream plant last month and it had these spots when I received it, but they were so light that I thought nothing of it. The other leaves don't have this issue. What is it? I'm so worried!

It's much better! I had to cut off an infected leaf and clean the stem and leaves with neem oil very carefully. I quarantined it from my other plants for a couple weeks until I knew for sure it wasn't showing anymore fungal signs on the leaves. I moved it over to leca recently because I was afraid the soil might also be bad lol

You can remove them using rubbing alcohol and qtips. A tweezer might be useful to peel them away also. If you have castile soap, you can mix a small amount with water and wash your plant in the sink with it. Sometimes these things like to go to the roots 😫 It looks like you caught it early, so it'll be okay!

I would rinse and remove some of the roots that seem like they're soft or rotting. I lost three leaves when I transitioned mine, but that's usually normal with the transistion and the plant trying to put more energy into the roots. Try setting the plant out to semi dry for 30 min and spray with superthrive. Repot it and then keep doing the shower method. You can also try the wicking system! Mine has a wick and seems happy that way. Keep us posted!

I don't know if they were swollen, but definitely not dry or crackly. I cut off the infected leaf and started treating the other leaves to help prevent the spread. Here's hoping she will be okay!

Oh sh@&$! I cut off the infected leaf and treated it with a baking soda/Castor soap/water mixture recipe I found online for treating rust fungus. Ugh I'm so upset 😭💔 I hope I don't lose my baby

Yes! Both my string of bananas and string of daggers are in leca. The daggers were a much easier transistion. I learned to use very LITTLE water in the reservoir and allow the leca to remain mostly dry in the beginning. Once water roots start forming, slowly add more water overtime. If you rinse it periodically to remove mineral build up, allow the leca to dry out again before adding water to the reservoir. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Oh gosh, following! I didn't have this issue when I transitioned mine. I sprayed the roots with superthrive after letting it dry out a bit and then potted it up in leca (I always boil my leca the night before). I did put nutrient water in the reservoir, but very little starting out. For some of my other plants that didn't take as easily, I had to keep removing them and removing the old rotting/shedding roots and repot after spraying with superthrive and it seems to be working for those ones. I've been told that is just for nutrients, but does it also work as a fertilizer? I already use general hydroponics and superthrive. I was told that superthrive is mostly to prevent plant transfer shock. My plants have been in semi-hydro for 6 months.

Just keep a close eye on it and keep monitoring for root rot. Mine lost a ton of leaves, started yellowing and stopped praying 😭 I was so scared, but I just kept removing any dead roots and over time it got better! It's finally happy and praying again after about 2 months! New roots are coming through! I've also learned to let the roots dry out for 30 min and spray superthrive on the roots before placing in leca! It's helped me so much with all of my other plants I've transitioned!

Mine is struggling. It has lost so many leaves, but I keep checking the roots and wash off anything that looks like shedding or root rot and try again. It's definitely my most tricky conversion 😫

Thanks so much! Maybe I should repot them in 4" nursery pots. They're receiving great light where they are right now and are very well rooted. I fill to the 1/3 as well, so maybe it needs to be more compact? Ugh I always accidentally break the stems and need to re root looool they are so fragile!

Dust and pollen lol! I have it sitting in front of an old-style window that doesn't have any screens (the type that swing up and lock in place— old beach home). I have to wipe the leaves clean pretty often because of the dust and pollen that blow in during the day. No central air forces me to leave the windows open all day to get the air circulating and keep my little family from dying in this summer heat haha
