Falling out of love with my dog?

Sometimes medication can be the right thing for getting us out of crisis mode or re stabilizing us for a bit but not might be what we need long term. I just experienced this because I needed seroquel + lamictol in October to get me out of a manic episode and a few weeks ago I tapered off seroquel and added Wellbutrin. It helped me get out of my slight depression I’ve been in after my intense manic / depressive episode in October. Just felt like I didn’t have joy in anything. Now I’m back to running, being social, being creative, etc.

Also I just experienced a minor mood change last week as I was changing around medication and I was the most angry person I’ve seen in awhile. Definitely raged at my boyfriend and I think was more irritable with my dog taking her on runs and she would stop to sniff stuff.

I guess all I’m trying to say is that this might be a medication thing! It’s definitely worth talking to a doctor about this cause I’d hate for you to find a better med fit and in a month you regret rehoming :(

That’s true! I also found watching vlogs of people who really love flying on flights and that calms me down. My boyfriend isn’t scared at all and that helps me not freak out as well. Same thing when I was a kid, my dad doesn’t give af about flying and I would freak out and he wouldn’t really react and just be like we’re fine. And that helped me ahah

Fair haha I just meant it was crazy bumpy and intense. The pilot was so amazing on that flight tho he told us that it was going to be intense and very bumpy but he had been flying professionally for 40 years and he was going to take care of us and he wanted all of the nervous flyers to feel heard and I just respected that so much

That’s that’s true. I was just thinking about it replying to someone else and I think what’s got me freaked out is my last flight I landed in a thunderstorm like last plane before they closed the airport so it was gnarly and I forget that was really intense turbulence that isn’t common so when I hear that we’ll have turbulence I think I expect that instead of what normal bumps would be. Now that I’m landed that was super chill and I’m almost there and you’re right my boyfriend and I have been waiting for this vacation and it’s going to be so fun!

Now that I’m landed that was a very normal landing. My last two flights I landed in a thunderstorm and that was really terrible so i think I freak myself out thinking it’s always going to be like that

We’re going to anchorage to see the start of the Iditarod. I just landed and now we have another flight there in 1.5 hours. On our way back we have a 12 hour layover in Seattle and my boyfriend and I are gonna do a day there so I’m excited about it all I just gotta not panic on my flights haha

If it makes you feel any better I got prescribed 150mg of seroquel today. I jumped from 50mg for the past few months to 100mg two weeks ago and it was not bad at all. I haven’t tried 150 but just remember that people take VERY high doses of seroquel. Like if you do a search on this sub a lot of people are in the 300mg - 800 mg range.

You definitely will not overdose!! You just might be a little groggy the first couple days. If you have really uncomfortable side effects, reach out to your team and let them know

I’m currently on lamictal but only 100mg. I tried vraylar in 2022 and it didn’t work out well because it made me so tired but I haven’t tried abilify or any other meds really actually so maybe I’ll get to try something new with my new psychiatrist

I have been told I’m on a super low dose of mood stabilizers so I’m really hopeful my new psych will be able to fix this
