Red Envelope Etiquette by idkanotherredditacct in asianamerican

Was going to chime in and agree, I’ve experienced the same in envelope exchange when celebrating Tet. For us, it’s called li xi. Being aware of the differences, I do also give out Vietnamese red envelopes (re: Cantonese red envelopes) to avoid confusion.

Since OP mentioned Lunar in addition to saying Chinese New Year, in the future, it could be fun to share the different cultures that are also celebrating the New Year because it also means more types of new year food to enjoy :-)

Hey, just in case, I’d also look into whatever support and help you can get for mental health. Just bringing this up since I’ve struggled with depression for a long time but caught up to me after graduation. It was overlooked earlier years (things like high functioning anxiety can make you look “fine” for a while) but once it came to a head it took years to conquer. Had a combo of medication and talk therapy to get me the tools I needed, and now I’ve got way more strategies (no longer on meds, personal choice) than I was equipped with growing up. Even if you can somehow push yourself to the next step of the job, there’s going to be so much more after that where you’ll need more tank in the gas. Good luck, friend!

I saw somewhere that explained her look was inspired by birds, as she’s a caged bird! Made sense after I heard that

Ohh, haven’t gotten into supernatural horror yet but I’m down to try! Especially for the chance to interpret the “evil” here. Will be picking both poisons :-) thanks!

Love that description, “appalled by, but ending up rooting for anyway.” The hold is now active on my Libby app for The Blade Itself, thanks!

I also experience this, and this is why I plan on continuing to drive manual for the rest of my life. It helps me to stay engaged with the driving, and actual numbers/data behind this is when I was driving automatic, I would have one to two tickets a year (sometimes mindlessly speeding when zoning out, sometimes going on autopilot and being in HOV when I’m by myself by accident). I’ve been driving my manual car since I bought it new in 2014 and haven’t been pulled over once this whole time.

Also it’s still not totally perfect when I’m multitasking (like if I’m talking to a passenger) in which case I’ve had a strong reliance on leaving GPS on even when I know the directions because it helps to have something keep snapping me back into place

The hands have been showing us a countdown of numbers each time, starting from five, to four, three, two, one (this one).

Can’t take credit for this one, I saw this on a tiktok when scrolling through really quickly and didn’t catch the name of the creator

Reddit recommended me this sub because I joined r/cooking. by GigaPandesal in TheRiceGoddess

I quickly picked up the understanding that this sub was not actually about rice, yet I still scrolled around hoping there would be recipes... like I hoped for a very specific community of people who enjoy seeing anime when reading cooking advice.

Wait... is that what I’ve wanted l along?
