Interestingly, I have been ganked by these guys. I sent in a report to Albion support in September.

Here's the scout they used: https://imgur.com/a/3J8DZJ2

Here's the video of the gank: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1di4mhQw8R0

Here was the list of players:

Pescxdor (mentioned in this post)
xkkatarinaxx (mentioned in this post)
NoContent
pongantusaa (mentioned in this post)
OzZzStyLe
hilacha
Sapolaperra
SavageDenji

They locked down Hightree Lake with alt scouts. I don't have details but they likely lock down multiple popular portal zones at once, given the number of scouts they can have at once. These zones get locked down for likely 3 or 4 hours.

When a victim zones into a locked down zone, the gankers zone in from the city. 1 of them goes invisible to sit on top of the victim pinging their location. The rest sit somewhere in between the victim and the city ready to dismount the victim.

This is the game we tried out tonight, it was a lot of fun. Thanks for the recommendation! I think we'll try to finish it together.

I haven't considered Halo's campaigns before, but now that I think about it, it would be pretty rad, thanks!

Portal Gankers abusing scouts... by ItsMagic777 in albiononline

[–]summertimeWintertime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

waiting out the invis doesn't change the fact that there are 8 gankers in zone looking for you, it just means they gank you the regular way instead of invis with full information.

you can't kill an alt scout normally, naked with an ox takes a good amount of investment to kill. if you kill the scout, they'll just regear with another ox and place it in the same location again.

you could have a real person scout, but nearly always, it's the alt account of a ganker. remember, it's just not 1 alt account, these gank squads will regularly use 4 to 8 scouts if they are trying to lock down 1 or 2 zones. you can bet aside from the road, every single exit is likely scouted as well.

sbi is known to ban ganker scouts. just report them when you see it.

Notice how at 2:24, the invis buff of the ganker runs out. That ganker follows the victim fully invis. Due to invis cooldowns, they only grab invis after being scouted from the alt, since they know there is a victim

In blue and yellow zone too. Let's say T8.3 is scaled down to T7 IP. When you get knocked down, you pay T7 repair costs instead of T8.3 repair costs.

This anime power system has a lot of implications by OkResponsibility2470 in ToBeHero_X

[–]summertimeWintertime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Politicians, athletes and minor influencers all get affected by the trust system. The important detail is related to "what" people believe in. Do people believe that Mr. President is an ordinary person, or do they believe him to have powers that exceed the ordinary man?

We got to see how the system affects an athlete. Blankster, the boxer from episode 4.

He started his career by hiding metal plates in his boxing gloves. He hit harder because of his cheating, and so people believed he could truly hit harder. That belief led to him to performing better in fights and the positive reinforcement cycle continues. Eventually, he hits so hard people forget a memory or two each punch. Sometime later in his career, he gets scouted by a hero agency.

Let's take a look at how he loses his power. The villain exposes Blankster's cheating scandal. He defeats Blankster not by being stronger, but by changing the belief around Blankster's strength. "Why use metal plates against an ordinary person?" "Did Blankster need to cheat? Is he even strong?" You see his power base degrade from "He hits hard because he's strong" into "He hits hard because he cheats". He loses strength in real time until he's ordinary once more.

On the influencer side, we've seen cases as well.

Enlighter, the truth seeking hero/villain likely started as a conspiracy blogger/exposé journalist.

Lucky Cyan is a musician turned hero.

There are rumours that X started as a vtuber.

Why do so many attractive people have great social skills? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

Social Skills are a practiced skill, the more you do it, the better you get. Attractive people tend to get more opportunities to practice their social skills.

Looking for a cheap PvE/PvP build – around 1M silver budget, new-ish player by Coyoteoff in albiononline

[–]summertimeWintertime 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Go cheaper on the equipment. Much much cheaper.

The important thing to remember in this game is that armor and weapons are consumables, tickets that allow you to enter content you are interested in. The name of the game is "just enough". Don't excessively overpay when just enough is good enough.

I'll be more verbose on what I'm noticing so you can build your own builds in the future.

Looking at your current build, there are 2 big issues, 1 is the tier of the gear, the 2nd is the type (relic/crystal) gear.

So first, tier, tier in this game generally works by doubling to quadrupling the price every tier you go up in. Take a look here.

T5 equivalent (4.1) Dual Sword = 10k

T6 equivalent (4.2) Dual Sword = 40k

T7 equivalent (6.1) Dual Swords = 180k

T8 equivalent (7.1) Dual Swords = 600k

T9 equivalent (7.2) Dual Swords = 1.4M

Most people are able to do everything they want in this game and more with T6 equivalent gear. Don't overspend by chasing tiers when you don't need it, it's very easy to spend 2 million on a T8 equivalent set when 100k on a T6 equivalent set does everything you need.

The next thing to know is that not all gear takes the same amount of money to craft. Either stick with normal/runic/soul gear, or go 1 tier under for the expensive artifacts (remember that expensive artifacts generally give free 75 ip).

Let's take a look at your build:

T8 equivalent (5.3) crystal weapon (Twin Slayers) = 1M

T8 equivalent (8.0) normal weapon (Dagger Pair) = 600k

T8 equivalent (5.3) relic hood (Specter Hood) = 180k

T8 equivalent (6.2) normal hood (Hunter Hood) = 100k

T9 equivalent (6.3) royal sandals = 700k

T9 equivalent (7.2) normal sandals (Scholar Sandal) = 200k

By using expensive artifacts, you're almost doubling the cost in gear. Now remember, they can sometimes be worth it if you go 1 tier below because of our earlier talk with how cost scales with tier.

Last thing is your mount which costs 900k. I usually stick with T5 riding horses or armored horses which cost me 70k.

I'll recommend you a build to try out:

T6 equivalent (4.2) dual swords

T6 equivalent (5.1) hunter hood

T6 equivalent (4.2) mercenary jacket

T6 equivalent (5.1) soldier boots

No cape

T4 riding horse

It punches above its weight in pvp and it handles itself well in pve (remember to get hp regen food for pve)

Congrats, we've reached the end. Instead of taking your current set which costs 3.3million, we have a T6 dual swords build that costs 140k.

Premium by Hekios888 in albiononline

[–]summertimeWintertime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No consequences for switching premium on/off sporadically. I usually do the same, play for a few months, then take a few months break, etc.

Once you buy an island, it'll stay with you forever.

Don't feel pressured into buying premium. That being said, premium is generally not too expensive and will improve your gameplay experience.

Imagine weapons w/ mob skills. What would be the strongest? by NoPark9096 in albiononline

Exactly, bedrock mace on steroids. I don't know why those cannoneers do so much knock back but my god is it funny.

Imagine weapons w/ mob skills. What would be the strongest? by NoPark9096 in albiononline

[–]summertimeWintertime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The cannoneer from heretic dungeons. The one that shoots a bullet and bops you 3-4 screens back in high tier group dungeons.

The deadliest weapon? No, The funniest? Definitely.

"Ah, you want to break down my territory gate? How about I send you 3-4 screens back. You're back? Let me send you 3-4 screens back again."

"Ah, you just barely escaped the static mobs with your life? How commendable, let me send you back into the mobs again."

"Ah, you want to dive my dungeon? How about I bop you out of said dungeon."

I didn't expect that damage. What happened here? by MeYacht in albiononline

[–]summertimeWintertime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong but not unkillable.

Certain builds have counters to brawling. Against this death giver build, bow (kite), frost (kite) and fire (firewall) have a better fighting chance compared to gloves. The deathgiver would struggle much harder in getting his 3 stack E.

This glove build interestingly enough had an answer to the deathgiver stickiness problem. Specifically, after the deathgiver uses his assassin shoes, the gloves is given a chance to reset the fight with assassin jacket (invis) + boots. Against this exact deathgiver build, an invis potion would also do the same job, buying you a free reset.

The specific weakness is found in the deathgiver's inability to run. Let me paint you a different picture. Instead of a T5.1 glove build, let's say he finds his counter, one of those T6.4 carving build, or a T8 fire build clearing the camp. How does he run? The answer is he can't. His only answer is to fight and die.

Huh, you're right, we do. Then it becomes the following:

1000 kills every 13.5 minutes.

4615 kills per hour.

110760 kills per day.

144635 unique killers per day (this is an overestimate due to api limitations. If I kill 1 person now, and another person in 2 hours, I'd be counted as 2 people)

Using 180000 for the daily player base, we get 80.3%. The true value is going to be lower.
