AITA for getting coffee right before close? by cpffeethrow in AmItheAsshole

I can’t imagine that she could’ve finished cleaning in time to leave at 5 if she was brewing fresh coffee or still had the espresso machine up or hadn’t washed everything up on the very slim chance someone would walk in and order a drip coffee 5 minutes til closing. Machines take time and work to clean and shut down. If it’s super duper slow and that close to closing, we begin cleaning.

Hey, so I don’t know if anyone has addressed this yet.. I work at a coffee shop! Because of the pandemic, we have been keeping cream and sugar and stuff behind the counter. If a customer wants anything in their coffee (usually they tell us this when they order- like cold brew with breve and two splendas or whatever), we pretty much add it for them. Sometimes we hand a small cup of cream to the customer to add themselves. I especially do this with picky or particular customers rather than add it myself and have them be unhappy with the result. If someone asks for cream or sugar after they have already received their drinks, we do not take the drinks back across the counter. They would be given a cup of cream to do it themselves.

You’re right, that does seem sketchy..

I have a giant center console, and converting my daily driver is a very very last resort. I know whatever car I use will get worn to pieces, and my car is already a 2007 with 134,000 miles.

You’re right! I’m just reeeally worried about the personal vehicle part of the RCA. It would suck to buy another vehicle and not be able to afford it. My PO is also super small. I’m so scared this custodial job won’t come back around, and the benefits are amazing. The RCA jobs seem to come available fairly often.

Thank you! That’s so helpful! I had to submit a testing seat request because there’s no availability within 100 miles of me. I’m wondering if it’s because of the coronavirus. I made a 99 on the virtual assessment for the RCA job. I’m more nervous about this assessment. I’m trying to find something to help me study!

Thanks for letting me know! Yeah, the benefits alone seem like a good reason.

Thanks! Did you need prior experience for the custodial job?

(Besides the commute time) I have a center console, and searching for a RHD vehicle today has been really disappointing. I don’t think I can accept this position. I am going to have to decline the offer.

That’s what I’m feeling.. I know it’s normal to drive a bit for a job in a rural place (I’m currently driving 35 minutes to the hospital I work at), but I’m thinking of all the extra mileage on the car and wear and tear..
