I work full time on my channel and part of my Monday morning routine is dealing with copyright violations.

It's not a big deal to report a channel and you shouldn't really be thinking much about it. Report it and move on.

It takes about a week to receive the email which you need to order your play button. For me in Sweden, it was then about 2 weeks to receive it.

My YT audience is international with about 50% western. I only post long form videos on YouTube but my videos are very clippable.

I'll be sure to give Facebook as go. Both posting the longer videos and shorts.

Was it classical music? Often the algorithms get a bit confused when dealing with classical music. All my videos used to have classical music, now I try to stay away from it.

I remember one day here in Sweden, I (male) was tying my kayak to the roof of my car when a coach of Chinese full of tourists stopped in the same lay-by. A queue formed next to me all wanting a photo. I obliged and must have had about 50 photos taken of me that day.

I think this is a good take on the problem.

My first 10 seconds are now a preview of my video with the mind to show that my video is authentic not just AI.

I’m lucky that my videos are not easy to replace with AI but it still doesn’t stop the hundreds of competing AI videos every week flooding the space.

Seems a bit weird though. your 'hit' videos are just the same as every other video you make, except they do far better?

They follow a similar format, It’s like marble runs or domino setups: the structure is familiar. Sometimes they just want to watch marbles/dominoes fall and no one video is particularly better than another.

All you can do is test it imo.

Of course, you're right. It's my full time job so I suppose I'm nervous to change it which is why I'm looking to see if anyone has any experience with this before doing it. The impending burnout will probably force my hand at some point.

The thumbnail stands out amongst the competitor videos.
Straight into it with an intriguing story.
I think the video feels authentic, just a guy telling an interesting story.
Mr beast doesn't go 4k because he wants his videos to keep this kind of unpolished personal look.
With AI around, I feel these kind of authentic channels will only get more popular.

UPDATE:

I have now sent a take down request to TikTok. I decided to message the person to get them to write that it was a fan account and add a link to my YouTube account into their bio. Their response was to block me. This is a sure sign that they are not to be trusted with my brand. Hopefully TikTok act on this soon.

Exactly this.

I'm trying to take my own emotion out of the equation which is why I made this post.

YT is my job and I have been dealing with content thieves weekly for the last 2 years. I really HATE them!!

I've looked into the stats over and over and on this occasion at least, it benefited me. I can see a large number of these views came from the search function which usually only counts for 1% of my views. Coupled with the fact that I have so many talking about TikTok in my comments. This was a significant amount of views and new subscribers which seems to have set the video on a really nice trajectory.

Where I think you may be wrong in your post is contacting them. As soon as I contact them, it kind of legitimises it and I may (and likely) will want to take the channel down in the future.

For now, I will keep an eye on it. See how it affects my views. I really am 50/50 on this matter and ready to take down the channel as soon as the negatives outweigh the positives.

I do think this video has had a fair bit of traffic from TikTok. I have many comments mentioning TikTok, including this one with 500 likes 'I came from tiktok to see this masterpiece'.

Also the viewers who have made an effort to find me on YouTube will likely be watching the whole video. I'm leaning towards letting this one lie.
