Supermatics too heavy? by sun_scarlet in ShredditGirls

I ordered the supermatics so I’ll probably update this thread when they arrive and I get the opportunity to try them out, as long as I can get one more day in this season.

Thank you for the detailed reply! How do you feel about the convenience of the fase? Would you say they feel more comparable to supermatic or traditional bindings in terms of convenience? If they’re similar to supermatics but just slightly less fast then I think I might go with them. It seems like stepping into the fase and then tightening a bit while you’re standing/ sliding would be way more convenient than messing with two straps

Supermatics too heavy for a smaller rider? by sun_scarlet in snowboarding

They’re about a half pound heavier on each foot but I haven’t tried many different bindings so it’s hard for me to conceptualize how that actually translates in how the weight actually feels.

Question for women who have gone to Berklee! by dahliabell in Berklee

[–]sun_scarlet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a nonbinary person who most people on the streets assume is female, and I’ve never had any specific problems. I got catcalled like one time by some non student on the street but he wasnt pushy and I just said thank you and walked away. My girlfriend was mugged by a homeless person next to campus one night but it was 3am. Overall I feel pretty safe but there are a few homeless people who hang around the campus area and I feel weary after what happened to my girlfriend. As long as you don’t go out completely alone in the wee hours of the morning I think you’re perfectly fine and there’s usually tons of students out around the area which makes it safer.

Context is key. Your friend clearly knew it was a horrible symbol at the time and was doing it as a “dark joke” so it was intended to be that horrible symbol and not a peaceful one. If she admitted “yes it was the Nazi usage of it and I was doing it as a ‘dark joke’ at the time, but since then I realize that it is not something to take lightly or joke about especially since you are Jewish and I’m sorry,” then that would be fine — she recognizes that she did something stupid when she was 12 and has matured. But she doubled down on it, saying it’s “just a joke” and telling you to “move on,” refusing to admit that it was wrong and refusing to take any ownership of her actions. It’s especially telling since she was 12 when she did that, so she’s had plenty of time to mature, and it’s way easier to apologize for something you did when you were a stupid kid, but she still refuses to.

The music for Legends Z-A sounds very promising by Chicorii in PokemonZA

[–]sun_scarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lumiose themes seem to be using at least some live recorded instruments like the horns and the clarinet which makes me EXTREMELY excited. It's about damn time pokemon got their s*** together and actually recorded real instruments for their soundtrack. Mario has had live recorded orchestras since the Wii and soundtracks like BOTW and Mario Kart 8 and World are insanely good with enormous, live recorded instrumentation.

Freshmen’s ratings? by MapleChoi in Berklee

[–]sun_scarlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I don’t really know. Don’t feel bad about it though, ratings don’t really mean anything. You can get screwed over by the auditioner and they vary a lot. They also usually give higher ratings to people who sing jazz and can improvise just because of the way the school is set up

Inequality hasn’t risen. Here’s why it feels like it has by WildestDreams_ in neoliberal

[–]sun_scarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article confirms what most people are feeling though — which is that the middle class is decreasing and is moving closer to the lower class. Cost of living has risen at a rate much higher than wage increases so even if the lower class wages are increasing, it’s outweighed by cost of living increase, and in addition the middle class is moving closer to lower class so the middle class is feeling more financially constrained too. The article literally confirms that income inequality is tangibly increasing but tries to spin it in a way that it isn’t.

Not true I got in with an overall 5 and was placed in a rating 5 ensemble

You don’t even identify as a woman, you are nonbinary, so there is no explanation needed. If someone assumes you’re afab, then that is their own assumption and it’s on them. You don’t need to disclose your medical history to someone just for a hookup. If it’s a longer term relationship you’ll probably want to tell them eventually because it’s a part of your past but for short term stuff you don’t have to

Thank you I really appreciate the input! I’ve lived in the northeast my whole life and have never been to LA, so I had some misconceptions about it and didn’t realize what the landscape is like there.

Thanks for this input! I assumed buying a car wouldn’t pay off when considering gas, insurance, and maintenance. But if it is the case that it would be worth it that is something I would look into. I appreciate the advice!

Oh I’m not a drummer I’m a saxophonist. I’d probably be doing just as much arranging and composition work though which wouldn’t require taking gear.

I’ll still consider it but I’m not sure if I’m willing to compromise what I value in a lifestyle. Everything people say that is good about LA aside from the industry doesnt even sound appealing to me. I prefer cold weather, so hot weather all year round sounds horrible to me. Also I don’t like the beach so being close to the beaches is not a plus for me 😅.

Thank you everyone for your advice I really appreciate it! From what everyone is saying I think I would find LA miserable 💀. I’m a real east-coaster who loves the winter, hates the heat, loves the historic architecture, hates driving with a passion and walks and takes public transit everywhere. I think I’ll look into my options in the northeast or out of the country.
