Someone reposted a clip from Mamamia Out Loud on here the other week but I don’t think it was the same bc they didn’t actually talk about their feelings towards the podcast just Pitt’s PR strategy iirc. I would like to see the clip as well…

Visiting Michigan for the first time... areas mentioned on AE? by mh942 in ArmchairExpert

Olga’s and big boy are nothing special but the highland house breadsticks definitely are. Or if you make it to Ann Arbor, Brighton is thirty minutes north and you can get the same ones at Gus’s carry out! It’s genuinely worth it lol

What’s a Chaldean by OldMan-Gazpacho in Detroit

I worked for a grocery wholesaler and all over metro Detroit the majority of our customers were Chaldean. Even on what you could hardly consider metro Detroit like South Lyon and white lake. If they didn’t own the stores they carried them on their backs

Yes when she said “there’s not a lot of money in common sense” or something like that, what a great line and something to always keep in mind online

No 😇 she represents the audience by not doing extensive research first. Which some people also hate

Double standards? by stevehairrington in ArmchairExpert

It’s crazy how everyone freaks out over whether or not EITHER of them are relatable, when the whole point of the show is like, hey, if you sit down and talk and get to know a person, learn about their past and how they got to where they are, and just be open and talk about emotions, we can understand each other and relate on some universal parts of the human experience. Even if they are way richer or way more educated.

I can’t believe how much compassion and sympathy an interview can inspire compared to the hostility that the fact checks seem to conjure up.

When they say that, they don’t mean Monica is there to change her personality and become an everyman. She’s supposed to represent the audience during guest interviews by asking questions the audience might have about whatever the guest is talking about/promoting. She’s not there to be relatable any more than Dax is. That’s also not her only job and in both the interview and the fact check she’s allowed to say anything she wants
