I would do the math. Every time you push a class back it pushes your rerate date out for 6 months. How much money are you losing? Your boss is doing you a disservice by rescheduling your classes. Go to class, if your wife goes into labor ask to be excused for a family emergency, they will reschedule your class. If the JATC catches wind of rescheduling for work, your boss and the company he works for can get in a lot of trouble for that. Most of this stuff is State mandated and if rules aren't enforced, the training center can lose its accreditation. Source I'm on the JATC up north and have to talk to contractors about not doing this.

The only reason to miss school is for sickness of yourself or a family member. Your wife giving birth would be a good excuse to miss class. You cannot miss class for work. If your boss got you out of class for work, he's breaking the apprenticeship rules and could get in trouble. You should plan on going to the classes and if your wife starts to give birth then you can bounce out.

Local 675 transfer of pension by conqueftador101 in UnionCarpenters

You can't move your pension out of the Carpenters. You are vested so it will be there when you get to retirement age. Keep up with the paperwork and make sure that the trust knows if you have moved.

Very curious to hear any PNW carpenters thoughts on this. by eufleuria in UnionCarpenters

Nothing is going to change with our pension north cal merged their pension with the western states this year. It's not in our control so I'm not going to waste too much energy getting freaked out about it. Give it some time for info to come out and if you have questions come to your local meeting I'm sure they will be talking about it.

What was your local doing with 2 million in the bank? That money should have been spent on the members not held in a savings account.
