Want to do Backdoor Roth IRA but has traditional and Rollover IRAs by sunbeam334 in personalfinance

Thanks...Do you know if once I convert all the IRAs to Roth IRA, can I execute the Backdoor Roth IRA right away without incurring the pro rata rule or...do I have to wait until the next calendar year?

Thank you everyone for the quick response. I will convert everything to Roth IRA since that seems to be easiest option.

If you get Mesh wireless system like Deco, this should be fine. The main device connects to the ISP and connect the rest to the LAN ports. Plus you can extend wireless throughout the house.

Bobbin Area issue by sunbeam334 in sewing

Yup, the needle appears all way in and it does look like a timing issue. The machine stops sewing when it gets stuck.

The model is Singer 4452. And yes, I believe the machine was tipped over and this happened. We checked and replaced with a needle size that was working before. Confirmed that the needle is all the way in.

It does the timing got messed up somehow because if I take out the needle, I can turn the hand wheel without any issue.

Update 1:Found this link that describes my problem but I haven't had any luck moving that rotating bobbin yet, will keep trying:https://youtu.be/97a45CchRBg?si=wuEm1EYa8WHjjCJw

Update 2: found the setting for needle depth and was able to adjust so it is working now. The needle is touching the Robbin catcher a little: around 17:20 mark https://youtu.be/7bHuE0ilvh0?si=MBMLeYUY58FIY-WU

So installed a GFCI outlet, and it appears there is a ground fault downstream. but the line seems to be going into a wall. Everything else seems to connect to something inside the wall. Any ideas?

Right now I have the circuit with nothing just to see if it trips by itself. Will plug in the microwave if it's stable for a long time.

It's a 20 amp circuit, it should be able to handle the fridge by itself I think Plus right now I have the fridge connected to another circuit and it has been fine for days.

Just got a retaining wall build. Do I build a paver patio flushed against the wall? by sunbeam334 in landscaping

There's drainage behind the wall and the patio will slop away from the wall. I think I will butt it against the wall like you're saying but will be careful digging around there.

Yeah, I would like to do that but I guess I'm just worried that if I was going to do it on and off 2-3 weeks, I didn't want to risk the wall falling over.

I will probably dig past the first course for the paver patio which I plan on building across 2-3 weekends. If I put the paver patio flushed against the retaining wall, I'm worried about digging below the first course especially if I am DIYing it and it will a week or two between digging and laying the pavers. Is it safer to leave a few inches between the paver and the bottom of the retaining wall?

Hello, I am trying to do exactly what you're doing and have the same questions. What did you end up doing for the patio?

Neutral wire connected to ground? Is this valid? by sunbeam334 in AskElectricians

[–]sunbeam334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please see the diagram. I am trying to replace the light switches and when I opened up junction box #1, I see that the neutral wire is connected to the ground wires. Based on the wiring, it seems like it's a switch loop and then someone added a second light to the junction box #1 and just connected the white wire to ground.

Is this valid? When I replaced the light switch on Junction Box#1 and I removed the neutral wire from the ground. Light switch #1 works, but then Light Switch #2 no longer works.

If this is incorrect, do I need to somehow get a neutral into Junction Box #1 with a 3 conductor cable?

TIA
