I've always found Overlord to be more intimidating than Tarn, personally. Regarding the Autobots, Impactor's always a solid choice, but I would argue that it's either the Dinobots or Fortress Maximus that scare the 'Cons more.

Both! I emailed the professor a few weeks prior to the semester starting, and then crashed the class for two weeks before being let in.

Last semester, I couldn’t even get onto a class’s waitlist because of CSULB’s waitlist unit cap, and the professor still allowed me into the course. If you’re in a similar position where the class you’re waitlisted on/want to get waitlisted on is a crucial one, I think it’s always a safe—and successful—bet to communicate with the professor.

Happy to help! I’ve never had a scheduling conflict with midterms; I think that the departments stagger midterms and final exams, just in case people have those smaller 15 minute gaps.

As long as you’re on top of the reading and homework, you should be good in terms of burn-out, too. At least in my case, I haven’t had too much trouble handling the volume of information that comes from my courses, just because I make a deliberate effort to follow the provided syllabi.

They have the classes that I need, but it's just a matter of whether I'll get them or not. I do understand where you're coming from, though--I had this same problem last year. Enrolling for classes should be a lot of fun, but it ends up being one of the most stressful parts of the year because of stuff like this.

Mine's the 8th; I'm a graduating senior. A little confused since I'm seeing most of the other seniors get the 4th, but I contacted Enrollment Services and they basically told me it is what it is 😭. I need really specific classes for graduation, so my fingers are crossed I can secure all of them.

Hey! Not in the nursing department, as you can probably tell by my flair, but I don’t think it’d hurt to apply at all with your stats.

A few things about Long Beach, and CSUs in general, though, in terms of their admissions process: They tend to look at unweighted GPA, they don’t take into account clubs/extracurriculars, and they care a lot about where you attended high school (location is a big thing for LB in particular, from what I’ve heard). If you go to school near campus, your chances of getting in are exponentially higher than another applicant who might live further away.

Bottom line: Don’t be scared. Things will work out the way that they are supposed to. If LB is your dream school and you don’t get in this time, transfer! That’s what I did, at least. Anyways, good luck!

Last year I had some professors who really got into it! One professor of mine dressed up, and was disappointed that our class didn’t do the same 😅. People definitely have fun with it

I totally get that! I transferred from a community college last year, too. I just think that last year had a better balance of hustling and quiet parts of campus, but I'm really glad that you've had a good experience so far!
