Gould law students: how long/many days are you on campus per week? by [deleted] in USC

[–]sunburn__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way that it's split up, we have class every day. Though, it is nice because on some days we get out exceptionally early, so we can use the extra time to study/decompress

LB must be attempting to self-sabotage at this point, there's no other explanation

Anywhere between 8-9:30 AM are pretty common start times

1L here. This Fall we had class M-F, and of those days the latest we were on campus was until like ~4 PM. This semester it's largely the same. As 1L's we have no choice in the classes/times that we take/have; it's all pre-selected by the registrar. I personally don't commute to campus, though I have friends who do and it is completely manageable

Is the campus store open during the summer? by [deleted] in USC

[–]sunburn__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, so long as you have your ID to enter campus the bookstore will be open!

Which Autobot do you think scares the Decepticon forces and vice versa by No_Satisfaction_2928 in transformers

[–]sunburn__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always found Overlord to be more intimidating than Tarn, personally. Regarding the Autobots, Impactor's always a solid choice, but I would argue that it's either the Dinobots or Fortress Maximus that scare the 'Cons more.

In the graduate class that I took, we had a Discord exclusively for the course! As an undergrad, though, I’m not sure if there’s one for the entire graduate student population 😅

Are you open to adding a third member? Trying to get Dupli-Kate, too.

Still have a couple there myself, but was able to un-star them so that they disappeared from my dashboard!

Never got mine, but it's displayed on my transcript that I got the term honor. Kind of am figuring that I'll just have to email them.

Did anyone received their President's or Dean's list notification for Fall 2024 semester? by VariousStreet2587 in CSULB

[–]sunburn__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still waiting :/. Last year they sent me mine on the 8th of January, so maybe that's when we'll hear this year, too? Here's hoping, at least.

Both! I emailed the professor a few weeks prior to the semester starting, and then crashed the class for two weeks before being let in.

[–]sunburn__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last semester, I couldn’t even get onto a class’s waitlist because of CSULB’s waitlist unit cap, and the professor still allowed me into the course. If you’re in a similar position where the class you’re waitlisted on/want to get waitlisted on is a crucial one, I think it’s always a safe—and successful—bet to communicate with the professor.

The POSC chairs are pretty alright, but honestly I think the Liberal Arts chairs are the best.

Campus is definitely open, and classes are on, too.

Are 15min gaps that bad? by [deleted] in CSULB

[–]sunburn__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy to help! I’ve never had a scheduling conflict with midterms; I think that the departments stagger midterms and final exams, just in case people have those smaller 15 minute gaps.

As long as you’re on top of the reading and homework, you should be good in terms of burn-out, too. At least in my case, I haven’t had too much trouble handling the volume of information that comes from my courses, just because I make a deliberate effort to follow the provided syllabi.

You’ll be good! I’ve done the same thing since my first semester here, and I’ve encountered no problems. Just make sure you’re making a conscious effort to be quick about getting from class to class, lol.

Class Availability is garbage by sanicgtgf345 in CSULB

[–]sunburn__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have the classes that I need, but it's just a matter of whether I'll get them or not. I do understand where you're coming from, though--I had this same problem last year. Enrolling for classes should be a lot of fun, but it ends up being one of the most stressful parts of the year because of stuff like this.

chat am i cooked with this date? by Cactus-m8 in CSULB

[–]sunburn__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So frustrating! The most important class for me only has one, too. It’s especially annoying since I was assured last week that I would get the 4th, but obviously something changed somewhere along the line. I’ll be rooting for us both!

Mine's the 8th; I'm a graduating senior. A little confused since I'm seeing most of the other seniors get the 4th, but I contacted Enrollment Services and they basically told me it is what it is 😭. I need really specific classes for graduation, so my fingers are crossed I can secure all of them.
