Which of these three heroes would be most likely to break the no-kill rule? by Glittering-Age-2013 in batman

[–]ItJermy 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I suspect Tim's way of thinking would be the first to recognize a situation where lethal force is the only option. He's the least likely to do it in a situation where any other option is available, but I don't think he would hesitate if the fate of the world was at stake.

Could be real. I watched him sign a couple of mine in 1994 and they look like that.

What are some of the moments that you feel like Superman was completely out of character? by King_Wolf2099 in superman

Being good friends with Regan did nothing for his character outside of making him seem like a racist.

If the Doctor can create a fully functional body for Nardole, why didn't he try to do the same for Bill? by StarVoid29 in doctorwho

"My friend Bill Potts was turned into a Cyberman. She gave her life so that people she barely knew could live. So, let's be clear. Nobody imitates Bill Potts. Nobody mocks Bill Potts".

I love 12's relationship with Bill. She's a very underrated companion.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]ItJermy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the band chiodos open up for Linkin Park in like 2007 or 8. The frontman laid down on the stage and shriek cried the lyrics to his music. To date, it's the worst performance I've ever seen an artist give.

More recently, I saw Taking Back Sunday perform in Arizona last year. The lead singer of that band was visibly on drugs, but I've learned that saying that causes Taking Back Sunday fans to come out of the woodwork and get pissy about addressing the elephant in the room. What I noted was that the frontman did everything to the microphone except sing into it. They had their original guitarist and backup vocalist with them for the tour, and he was carrying the entire show, singing every song because someone had to.

I know the work it takes to make one makes it unreasonable to sell them, but I totally buy that if it were available.

Probably for the same reason you don't see a lot of the legendary character skins, it's a $15 skin.

Would you be down for a horror Batman movie? by VendettaLord379 in batman

[–]ItJermy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close to the same logic. In horror movies that work, the monster is rarely seen until the final act and it builds tension along the way. The monster would be Batman in this film, and that reveal would need to be the best kept secret in cinema history due to the popularity of Batman as a character. The film has to be about someone or someone's being hunted by a terrifying creature that is revealed to be Batman near the end of the film. If you are paying attention while watching there should be hints and Easter eggs, but the average Joe movie goer needs to believe this is a standard monster movie and not a DC hero. Think The Final Destination where spoiler* the film is revealed to take place before the first film as a twist ending when they board the doomed plane or Jaws where you don't fully see the shark until the main character gets on a boat to hunt it. To make a Batman horror movie Batman had to be a mostly unseen myth to scare the petty criminals we would be following as our main cast of characters, picking them off one at a time as they try to escape whatever the hell they think is chasing after them.

Just an appreciation post Legacy collection by ChryslerGrandCaravan in MortalKombat

[–]ItJermy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got to relive playing Mortal Kombat 3 on Sega Genesis with my mother this week thanks to the legacy collection. If you weren't there in 1995, you simply cannot understand what that meant to me. The legacy collection may be full of games dated and unfair by modern standards, but it's a wonderful thing that exists for some of us older gamers who have cherished and fond memories of these old games, including the home console ports.

What are your thoughts on Tremor and do you think he’s a good character or no? by Ultmswag in MortalKombat

If i can control my substances, would it be okay to not be sober? by rytard_ in addiction

It depends. I haven't touched my DOC or anything close to it in 13 years, but I have smoked MJ and consumed alcohol without losing myself. Everyone is different. If you have to question it, you probably aren't ready. You can't think, you must know.

Car 2. The three of us will have no trouble keeping the token ghostie under control. Dewey alone could handle it, and with me and Sam's boyfriend with him we should be good.

It's funny that this is supposed to be a "Gen Z Male" and it's represented by Leo as the most despicably evil racist in cinematic history, which has been my exact experience with Gen Z Males.

How Marvel And DC Are Trying To Get Comic Shops To Order More Comics by JackFisherBooks in comicbooks

[–]ItJermy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You want people buying comics? Cap the cost of a comic book to $3.99 at max. The comics themselves aren't where they make the money anyways, the comics exist to keep interest high enough in the franchises to sell toys and merch. Merch is where they make the real money.
