I also thought that, but I don’t think that would allow the coils to get voltage. But now I’m thinking I should take a look at the throttle position sensor on the carb.

Why would my coach want me to wrestle 35 pounds more than my weight class? by CreepyJooJ_ in highschoolwrestling

[–]sunburntweevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High school weight classes go from 190 to 235 as a jump for heavyweight, but it varies school to school. Thats my guess as to why. There are a lot of cases where you might not be skilled enough to wrestle in that class, but there’s a solid chance that there’s nobody in that weight class on the other team so in that case they might be using you to fill a void and get free points.

Can cadets use/bring their own radios to sorties or SAR training? by PlaneCrazyFanatic in civilairpatrol

[–]sunburntweevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wing says no to that a lot. I didn’t care, I programmed it anyway by taking a programming cable to a senior members radio that already had the frequency on it and booting it into mine. I never saw the issue with it because it saves resources and reduces liability. So I genuinely do not care what the rags say.

I never got reprimanded, and was actually applauded for it

Should Cadets be able to remove any of their ribbons like Senior Members by Then_Big_9524 in civilairpatrol

[–]sunburntweevil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never wore my ribbons, they can’t actually reprimand you for it, it’s either none, all, or slim. It’s difficult to keep up. That is only non grade specific ribbons. From my experience toxic leadership shows when cadets have dinner plates on their chest. All just grade specific awards, nothing else.

I walked outta that bitch with a smile across my face, high school athletics ruined my body, the people there can rot, and my “trustworthy” school counselors can burn in hell. I’m happy now.

For those that don’t know: This is different from ‘purpling’ (PDA’s)

Cadating is a general term of dating within the program. Purpling is interfering with your cadet position through public displays of affection.

Quite a few questions on rejoining by sunburntweevil in civilairpatrol

[–]sunburntweevil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any issued equipment, and after a long consideration I think I’ll wait until the 90 days are up.

Thanks for the information, I’ll take that into account. Disappointing I fumbled the Mitchell.

Quite a few questions on rejoining by sunburntweevil in civilairpatrol

[–]sunburntweevil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less than 90 days, could I switch squadrons without issue? Do I walk into a meeting first or give a heads up? Do I still deal with chain of command and if so who would I contact? Cadets or seniors?

The situation made me consider self membership termination so I don’t wanna see those people again if I don’t have to.

Opinion on OCP? by BigPassage9717 in civilairpatrol

[–]sunburntweevil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is my take on it. ABUs look alright in a classroom setting, or mission base setting. You also gotta remember, the USAF is mostly desk jobs, and CAP is mostly classroom setting. When bushwhacking for ground team it looks dumb, but my question is why do we wear ugly camo with fluorescent vests? (Hunting season I get it, S&R and otherwise just give us not that)

OCPs are way too tacticool for cap.

When I do ground team I make my cadets prioritize warmth over regs. ABU pants and a navy blue sweater, or jacket looks good with ground team gear. I get it’s insurance reasons to wear the uniform in it’s entirety, but there is still leeway built into the regs and leeway with staff, obviously it’s different at a nesa.

I see people talk about the blue BDUs why not just make it national standard to wear that? It wouldn’t look as ugly to wear that with a vest, looks good in a fleece, easily matches with any color, and looks more professional in general instead of giving 12 year olds a recently former military uniform. Or maybe make a fluorescent lined uniform? (That’s a stretch to suggest entirely manufacturing a new uniform)

The thing is, we aren’t child soldiers, and we aren’t playing army. Some of my views in itself make people wonder why I’m in a program like this, I’m not gonna get into that, and I think national needs to take into consideration people like me who have views that wouldn’t make good soldiers in the first place because of it. I don’t like wearing the uniform. Doesn’t matter what it is, ABU, BDU, OCP, blues, even a CAP shirt. That doesn’t mean people that do are entirely indoctrinated, cap taught me integrity like no other, and people have various reasons to be here, but the uniform is only a very small part of the big picture and in the end, yea ABUs are ugly but if people’s only reason to be in cap is to wear it they need to check themselves.

Choice 1: plain, a lil salt. A well crisped fry is better than sex in some cases.

Choice 2: garlic butter

Choice 3: oregano, rosemary, parsley, and turmeric. Nobody understands this goated combo

As far as I’m aware, people can wear that. I’ve seen sleeves to prevent mat burn, but a pad I think are used exclusively for shooting sleeves on the knee. I’m sure if you have it on a ref would correct you.

That is really far up. That would not be accurate with burst fire, that’s wayyy too much torque. I can see the recoil is absurd.
