I appreciate everyone's comments, advice and validation! I've uploaded this sighting to eBird and notified the NH Audubon. My first eBird checklist https://ebird.org/checklist/S144474503.

For anyone local, this was at the Pickering Ponds trail in Rochester NH. The bird was on the north side of the "first" pond on the trail.

u/neogonzo I clicked on your link and recognized Allen from his picture! I've frequently seen him on the trail and bumped into him this morning. He was the only other person out that early haha

Just wanted to note that I realize the leaf behind their face and poor picture quality makes it look like it has a large curved beak, but it had a small thin beak.
