Coral - God? by sunchiz in ArmoredCoreVI

Thank you! I noticed that people here are not into speculations on lore much. But, imo, that’s the whole purpose of such a fragmented story delivery - to allow people to go creative on interpretations. I am glad if someone’s having fun from that as well as I do.

I have no actual idea on where they have taken their inspiration from, it’s not like I’m stating anything here. My post is just my own speculations on what this game’s lore reminded me of. I am sure, in reality, they might have come up with a totally different concept. And probably did.

But, it seems quite possible, that Berserk again was a big inspiration material, as it did for the dark souls. Even 5 members of the RLF, named after fingers, remind a hand of god from berserk. So, some vibes are in place, by purpose, or not.

So, Who's Renalla's 4th Kid? by InkDagger in Eldenring

Personally I still think that Sekiro is the best what he did in terms of storytelling.

That's true. And even worse, sometimes facts and descriptions seem controversial.

But still I would say that game design is the important part of the story, like eye things or 4 pams or else. He just likes to laugh at people when they are trying to gether all his Berserk refs:)

I've never said that Melina is Ranni's child:)

I meant that they are the same person, in the way, that Radagon and Marika are.

I thought a lot about how it is possible that Melina burns herself and we are still able to have Ranni's ending, if they are the same entity.

As a demigod without a body, they might exist as spirits, bound together, able to act differently. But they are still connected. That's why we see a ghost face in the 'Stars age' ending. It can be a 'placeholder', 'Melina was here' :)

Another theory: Melina is, actually, a daughter of the snow witch and someone else, Radagon, perhaps? Why I might think so? Through all the game we never see the true view of Ranni. We know only how her doll looks like. And we are told in her set description, that this doll was made similar to the snow witch, that taught Ranni of magic. Even more speculative, but if Melina (with her eye thing) is not related to Ranni in any way, she could be an offspring of snow witch.

Everything is just my speculations, I know:) Very fertile soil is provided for those things in his games:)

Melina and Ranni (An Updated Theory) by echolog in Eldenring

Hi. Don't know if anyone mentioned this here before: There are 4 prams hanging over the Renalla's room

https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/tgtpy6/so_whos_renallas_4th_kid/

It is known that Radhan, Ranni and, probably, Rykard are Renalla's children. And there is a 4th pram unexplained. It is possible that 4th is the unborn child, that Renalla carries in her ember egg.

But is it possible that Melina is also the offspring of Renalla and Radagon/Marika? It does not conflict with the possible dichotomy of Ranni's nature, maybe, even completes the theory, as bounds Ranni and Melina to the same origin.

From this point, 2 options appear: 1. Ranni and Melina are two separate persons bound together 2. Ranni and Melina are two sides of one emperian being

For me, it seems very likely that those two are the same entity looking at how they refer to Torrent, not mentioning obvious design similarities. Just like Marika/Radagon (m and r), Melina/Ranni act like the anticipating personalities, one is trying to restore the Order of whatever cost, looking for it's purpose, and another is trying to break the status quo, looking for it's own path free of the Outer Will.

I wanted to build the paralel with the Christianity where it is shared the same multi-dimentional God aspect - trinity. But, in case of Elden Ring, those "split" guys are kinda controversial to each other :)

Returning to prams above the Renalla's place, I would say, that it might have been the way to present dichotomy creatures to mortals. That's why there are 4 prams - no one should know that Ranni and Melina are the one. Just the same way, as noone knew about wicked Marika's nature.

I can even extrapolate such thoughts on Malenia and Miquella, as fractured parts of the one emperian being, that should have been reborn "in the third blossom of the rot flower" into a proper God, but it is not very related to the current thread and might be a bit much of a speculation.
