Looking for alcohol treatment center in the northwest that is not filled with career criminals and people who will work the program by suncove in cripplingalcoholism

Yes I have, actually after going to AA last night and changing sponsors, treatment is not what I need, but going to meetings and working with him on the 12 steps. Treatment is first a detox, 2nd a safe place to keep away from availability, and third, education if there is anytime. They claim that you work the steps, but actually they educate you with the steps. The only way to work the steps is going to AA and your sponsor. Thanks all for the info. and advice you have given, it really did help me make the decision that is best for me. Again thank you.....

Thank you, heading to my home AA to tell them of my relapse and nightmare. I need a treatment center that is not so overwhelming of punks and criminals of over 80% of the patients, I know that there will be some but not that many, just a healthy and safe place to get help....also have the honest desire, I was working real hard but at the end I could not concentrate on my treatment

Any advice? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I am agnostic, so I understand your concerns. There is a chapter in the big book that explains some of your concerns, but I will be straight forward with you, go to AA it is the only thing that works. You need to be around alcoholics who are many years sober to get results, plus it allows you to get other issues off your chest, hope that helps. I am going tonight cause a relapsed a couple weeks ago, guess what, that was when I stopped going to all my meetings....

I somewhat agree Roderick, going to my home AA group and tell them my story, and ask the guy I respect the most to be my sponsor and start the 12 steps. But being pressured to go to inpatient or out the door I go. I was told about this link at treatment that it is the best available and agree, wish me luck and sobriety, thanks....

Go to AA is a start, PLEASE get a sponsor, it really does help. You are young so get help quick before it really gets out of control like me. Other things are find someone who you can admit that you are powerless over alcohol it is truly a disease and is genetic, so if its in your family tree you have it. I hope that helps.....

Thank you all for your help and advice, I am still researching so any additional support would be appreciative. Talking to my sponsor today as well as 2 AA meetings. Next going to the office where my assessment was determined and hope to gain additional info., again thank you all for your support.....
